Reaper76: The Big Mission Part Three

     Gabriel was the first one awake. He looked down and watched Jack as his chest rose and fell with each breath he took. Jack stirred a bit before he opened his eyes.
   "Morning sunshine," Gabe said, chuckling as Jack tried to go back to sleep. "The alarm just went off. It's time to get up." 
   Jack groaned as he sat up. He would have argued back, but he knew better today. He remembered the mission and got dressed quickly while Gabe took a shower. Jack couldn't help but grin when he thought about last night. He almost wished he could talk to someone about it just so that he could gossip, but he dismissed the thought quickly. Although most of the world didn't frown upon that sort of thing anymore, Jack and Gabe had both discouraged dating within Overwatch at some point. They didn't want to seem like hypocrites. 
   Gabe stepped out of the bathroom, steam following him as he opened the door. It took Jack a moment to realize he was only in a towel. He looked away before Gabe could see him blushing.
   "Have you heard from any of the other agents yet?" Gabe asked as he walked over to his luggage to grab an outfit. 
   "Not yet. I'll call them." Jack avoided looking at Gabe by jumping over the bed and grabbing his phone. He stared towards the closed window as the phone rang. Once... Twice... Three times... Usually Lena would pick up her phone faster. Finally the phone stopped ringing, making Jack worried. He had never know Lena or Angelia to miss a call.
  Suddenly there was a knock at the door, pulling Jack from his thoughts. He turned towards the room and saw that Gabe was searching for his nice shirt.
   "I'll get it." Jack said quickly. He opened the door, half expecting Lena to be standing there. Instead, Mcree leaned against the wall outside, Genji close behind him.
  "We weren't sure where ya'll wanted to meet up and someone can't sit still." Mcree stated.
  "You talk as if you aren't that someone, Jesse Mcree." Genji said. Mcree rolled his eyes as he stood.
  "Can you guys go check on Lena and Angelia?" Gabe said as he stepped into their veiw. Mcree blushed fiercely when he noticed that Gabe was shirtless. "We haven't heard from them this morning. I'll join you two in a bit."
 "Y-yes, sir!" Mcree stuttered before running off with Genji in tow. Jack looked at Gabe and smirked.
   "What?" Gabe finally asked, chuckling at Jack's smug face. "Are you jealous 'cause Mcree saw me without a shirt?" 
  "You did that on purpose." Jack said, pointing to the shirt Gabriel was holding. 
  "Maybe, maybe not." Gabe chuckled as he pulled the shirt on. He walked towards the door and said, "I'm going with them. I doubt that anything is wrong, but if there is a problem those two aren't going to be much help. You should take a shower."
   "Are you saying I smell bad?" Jack teased.
    "Yep!" Gabe called as he rushed after Mcree and Genji. "Lets all meet up for breakfast at 0600."

  When Jack got out of the shower, he found that Gabe hadn't returned to the room yet. He got dressed quickly before checking his phone. He had a few new messages from Gabe.

"Hey, we found Lena and Angelia. They had just sleeped through their alarms."

"I'm with Mcree and Genji in their room. We left the girls to get ready on their own."

"Ok, I'm heading that way." Jack texted back. He packed up his bag before setting it by the door and leaving the room. They would come back to their hotel rooms before they left if all went well.
  Once everyone was ready they all headed out to find a place to eat. They had to pack into a black minivan. Gabe drove and Jack sat in the passenger seat. Lena and Mcree called dibs on the pilot seats, leaving Angelia and Genji to seat in the very back seat together.
  They ended up stopping at a McDonalds that was runnning 24/7. They couldn't find anywhere else that looked even half way descent while also being open at this ungodly hour.
   They went inside to eat. There was a scrit no food in the car rule. Once their breakfast was ready they all sat down and talked. Whenever someone would mention the mission, Gabe would fake cough and geature to the McDonald's staff, who could easily hear everything they would say. Instead they started talking about what was going on in everyone's personal lifes.
   Mcree  and Genji had began to talk amongst themselves, tuneing out the rest of the table's conversation. Lena and Angelia soon ended up talking about something that Jack and Gabe couldn't follow, so they stopped listening, which left Gabe and Jack to talk to each other.
   "Are you nervous?" Jack asked in a slightly hushed voice. Gabe looked back at the other man with a confused expression.
    "About what?" He asked.
    "About them going on this mission." Gabe gave Jack a look when he mentioned the mission, but he continued. "I know, I know, 'Don't talk about the mission in public.' But what if they get hurt and its all our fault?"
   "Jack, you said it yourself. They're tough enough to handle themselves. They are gonna be fine."
   "Yeah, your probably right." Jack really wished that he could lean in to give Gabe a hug, but everyone would see. Instead he just reached for his hand from under the table. Gabe grabbed his hand and continued to reassure the other man. Jack smiled. He knew that everything  would be alright.
