Mcree's vision faded in and out as he tried to get a grib of his surroundings. He felt a sharp pain in his right arm, which he just so happened to be laying on. He would have cried out if he could find his voice, but all that came was a raspy moan. He stared at the ground and listened to the ringing in his ears. He couldn't remember what had just happened.
Suddenly he noticed Hanzo's feet as they dashed towards him. Mcree didn't have the strength to look up, so he watched the man's shoes. He knelt beside Mcree, yelling something and checking his neck for a pulse. Mcree couldn't hear what Hanzo was saying, but he could only imagine the lecture he would get once his hearing came back.
If his hearing came back. How long had it been since he first heard the buzzing? It felt like an entirety, though it was probably closer to a few seconds.
Mcree looked up as much as he could to see Hanzo, paler than usaul, still mouthing words Mcree couldn't hear. His face lit up when he noticed the cowboy's movement, but he still keep one hand on Mcree's neck to feel for a pulse. Though he would never admit it himself, Hanzo would be upset if something bad happened to Mcree.
It didn't take long for Mcree to notice that they were still under fire. He reached up and grabbed the hand Hanzo had gently wrapped around his neck and tried to say they needed to find cover. He wasn't sure if Hanzo could hear him, but he nodded along as if he did.
Tiny black dots crowded in front of his face, blocking his veiw. He let go of Hanzo's hand before his head fell heavy onto the ground. He was so tired.
--------
"Jesse, Jesse, please, wake up, God Dammit." Hanzo pleaded, quiet at first then louder as Mcree regained his hearing. As he opened his eyes he noticed he was inside one of the buildings close to the battlefeild. He could hear shots ringing out just past the walls. The air felt cooler inside.
It took him just a moment to realize Hanzo was sitting over him, to were he could almost gracefully hover over Mcree without touching his legs. Almost.
Mcree could feel his face getting a little warm. "Wha' happened?" was all he managed to choke out. Hanzo shot daggers at him with his eyes.
"You were a fool, as usual." He scolded.
"Tell me somethin' I don't 'lready know." Mcree coughed as he tried to chuckle.
"They set off a bomb and you did not take cover like you should have." Hanzo said. He examined Mcree's wounded arm for a moment before reaching for Mcree's belt.
"Woo there partner." Mcree said, laughing a little bit nervously. "A bit forward, ain't ya?" He sat up awkardly, though it was difficult with Hanzo leaning over him.
Hanzo blushed, though only slightly. "Do not flatter yourself, fool." He scolded. "I need to use it to stop your bleeding."
He worked with Mcree, though he had only one good arm, to remove the belt. They had to stop after the second belt loop because Mcree could not sit up enough to get the belt out from under him without pain shooting through his body, leaving them both out of ideas.
"I will go search for something esle to stop the bleeding." Hanzo finally said after some conversation over what to do. As soon as he began to turn around, Mcree grabbed his hand. Hanzo turned and sat with elegance and grace, and not as if he was just dragged to the floor.
"What about your hair bow thing-a-mo-bob?" Mcree asked. Hanzo returned his question with a look of dumbfounded confusion for a moment before realizing what he was talking about. Normally he would not like having his hair down infront of others, but this was to help his teammate.
He sat on his knees proudly as he undid his hair. Mcree could barely stop himself from staring at the muscle and torso exposed, which just seemed stronger as Hanzo lifted his arms. He almost forgot about the pain in his own arm.
The pain in his arm... Mcree tore his eyes away from Hanzo and stared down at his arm. There was a large peice of metal sticking out at jaged angles. He could only hope that he wouldn't end up with a second robotic arm.
While accessing the wound, Mcree had forgotten about Hanzo, which made the other man's sudden action all the more startling. Hanzo gracefully swung a leg over Mcree's, leaving a knee on either side of Mcree. He sat only an inch or two above the other man. They could feel each other's warmth, although though neither acknowledged it. Hanzo leaned into Mcree's chest, wrapping his hair piece around his arm a few times. He began to fiddle with the metal in his arm but stopped immediately when Mcree cried out in pain, slamming his fist into the ground.
"Sorry," Hanzo said, jumping away from the wound. He almost got off of Mcree's lap completely, but the cowboy stopped him. He ran his good hand through Hanzo's long hair a few times before resting it on his shoulders. He smiled at Hanzo's slightly smug yet also slightly nervous face.
"Are you alright?" Hanzo asked. Before Mcree could respond with a smart remark, he corrected himself. "I didn't make it worse, did I?"
"You couldn' make it worse if you tried, darlin'." Mcree said. His voice was still rough but it was recovering some. He buried his face into Hanzo's shoulder. He just wanted to forget the pain in his arm. He took in a deep breath before letting it out again. Hanzo began protest at first, but decided otherwise. He knew that he had to have caused some extra pain. Letting Mcree lean on him was quite literally the least he could do.
At some point, Mcree wrapped his good arm around Hanzo's waist, pulling him closer as he leaned up to look at him. There faces were almost touching. Something about the moment made Mcree want to kiss him.
"We should call Mercy." Hanzo said strictly. He moved as if he wanted to get up, but Mcree stopped him. Hanzo crouched above the man still sitting on the floor.
"Can ya' kiss it better?" Mcree asked, all subtlity flying out the window. He wished he had not said anything as Hanzo shot him a nasty glare. He closed his eyes, about to play it off as a joke, before feeling another pair of lips against his.
He simply melted in Hanzo's arms. The kiss was short but full of passion. He let out a small moan as Hanzo pulled away. It left Mcree wanting more. He could feel his face get hot and only hoped that he wouldn't be blushing much when Hanzo came back with Mercy. Or worse...
"Geez, I knew Hanzo wasn't very into women but I'd never thought he was gay." The voice nearly made Mcree jump out of his skin. He turned to see Genji leaning over a counter and staring down at Mcree.
"Damn, how long have you been there?" Mcree asked, a little freaked out by the idea of kissing someone while their cyborg ninja brother sat in the corner.
"'Can you kiss it better?'" Genji mocked. Mcree blushed further.
"Shut up!" Mcree exclaimed, pulling his cowboy hat down to hide his face. "What are you doin' round here any how?"
"I saw you two in here and I wanted to mess with you but then, well." Genji shrugged.
"I mean, what were ya' mission orders?"
"I'm suppossed to be flanking the enemy. Speaking of which, I must go." Genji dashed to the back door, a different one from the door Hanzo left through.
"You ain't gonna tell anyone?" Mcree asked, almost pleading. He didn't mind telling anyone and everyone if need be, but he was worried Hanzo was more shy.
"What? That you're dry humping my brother instead of getting medical attention? I won't tell anyone." Genji stood by the door a moment more. "You can't tell but I'm winking." He announced before finally leaving.
Mcree was left alone with his thoughts, with the noise of the buzzing, and the noise of the distant battle. It all seemed so far away... like he could just drift off... without a care... in the world...
-------
When Mcree woke up he was in the hospital wing. Dr.Ziegler was helping Soilder 76 all the way across the room. He didn't look horrible injured, which was a good sign. It seemed he just needed a few stitches.
"Good morning." Hanzo said. His voice was as cold as ever. It sent a chill down Mcree's spine. His tone made Mcree wonder if the kiss was just a dream.
He looked up at the door and noticed 76 walking out of the room, Mercy trying her best to keep up.
Suddenly there was a hand wrapped around his. Mcree stared up at Hanzo's face to see him smiling back.
"I'm glad you're okay." He said. His voice was only slightly warmer than normal, but even that seemed like a great achievement. Mcree smiled a toothy grin while Hanzo explained everything that happened after Mcree passed out again, but Mcree could barely pay attention.
'I'm glad you're ok.'
