Angelia couldn't help but stare at the cyborg sleeping in his medical bed. He had taken off his mask, something she rarely saw him do anymore, and she could see the way his chest rose and fell slightly with each breathe he took. He looked so peaceful. She felt as if she could watch the steady rhythm for hours.
"You are staring, doctor." Genji said, his quiet voice filling the small room. He had not opened his eyes. Angelia jumped a bit, but quickly regained herself.
"I do not know what you are talking about. Are you sure you did not hit your head?" Angelia said, confidently. Genji chuckled as he sat up. He finally opened his eyes.
Again, Mercy found herself staring. His eyes seemed more grey each time she saw them, if only slightly. Everything about him was so interesting and different.
Maybe she imagined it but she could have swore Genji winked. He reached over to the nightstand for his mask, breaking their eye contact.
"You are uglier than I remembered, brother." Hanzo joked from the bed next to Genji's. He sat up to were he was sitting on his knees. He had also been injured in the accident that wounded Genji. Both men would probably be good enough to leave the infirmary by tomorrow night.
"And you look like a shaved dog's butt." Genji shot back, though he said it light-heartedly. Angelia watched in slight confusion as the brothers insulted each other. They seemed strangely happy, considering the words that they were saying.
Angelia wasn't sure how long they could continue without turning hostile, so she decided to change the subject. "You both have some minor injures. You should both be good to go by the end of tomorrow, or at most by next Tues-"
Angelia was interrupted by someone bursting through the door. Mcree stumbled in quickly, catching himself on the doorframe and using it as a support so he wouldn't fall. Hanzo began to blush as a look of horror flashed across his face.
"Hanzo!" He called, dashing over to the bed. "I came over as soon as I heard about explosion. You ain't hurt none, are you?"
Genji coughed awkardly, worried that Mcree might not have seen him. With no shame Mcree turned to face Genji. "Were you hurt, too?"
"Angelia says we'll both be fine soon." Hanzi said, a small smile stretching across his face.
Genji raised an eyebrow. "Did you and Hanzo have plans or something?"
"Can't I be worried about my friend without an excuse?" Mcree calmly replied. "If I had known you were down here I would have rushed o'er for you as well."
Genji rolled his eyes. He looked back to Hanzo, whos face was pinker than a cherry blossom in bloom. He only stared foward, beleiving that if he didn't look at Mcree he wouldn't be as embarrassed.
"Ah, yes, well.." Angelia began. Her voice trailed off for a moment before she spoke up. "Visiting hours are over, Mcree. Can I speak with you out in the hall?" Mcree nodded and followed her out the door.
"Sooo... you and Mcree, huh?" Genji asked.
"We are just friends, as he said."
Hanzo snapped quickly."Why are you upset?"
"I'm not."
"What, did you want to be something more than friends?"
Genji said, raising an eyebrow successively."What? What is that supposed to mean?" Hanzo asked.
"You know exactly what it means. Stop denying it, brother."
Hanzo shook his head. "You have no idea what you are talking about. Me and Mcree are just friends, and thats all we ever will be." He had tried to say the sentence confidently, but instead his voice trailed of towards the end.
