Dedicated to sprinklesandsunshine I love your name. You're pretty cool 😎

19) Mackenzie vs A Teenage Party

I challenge you to a dance-off!

"A dance off? You've got to be kidding me." Sam massages his forehead while giving me a pitiful look "That's the dumbest thing you've ever suggested. And that includes the time you tried to convince our teacher that you were raised by koala bears which is why you fell asleep in his class" he looks at me like I'm a little kid who just challenged him to a game of Pokémon.

"Well, obviously you've never heard yourself talk because all that comes out of your mouth is complete baloney. Back to what we're here for- the dance off. DJ HIT THE TUNES." I seem to say to nobody in particular, hoping someone will catch my drift and change the music to something more upbeat.

I'm met with a circle of people watching us curiously and 'Fireflies' playing in the background.

Okay so maybe I didn't really think this through very well. To be fair I had to improvise on the spot and make something out of what was available which is Throwback Pop tracks.

Sam shakes his head giving up on a battle he has already lost. He starts talking to himself as he walks away "This is just stupid. I don't even know why I even bother."

That my friend is how you win an argument with your awesomeness. Although he did leave with the cookie which may leave me in the default. Doing a mini-victory dance seems like the most appropriate way to celebrate a small win.

Deciding that I probably need to find Zoe so I don't look like a complete loner, I maneuver my way through what I think is the lounge room. As I am walking through the crowd something catches my eye.

Aaron is dancing in the middle of the dark room with a blonde chick that looks like she's covered in a sparkly tea towel. I think she's missing the other half of her outfit. It's funny, I sort of forgot that Aaron was going to be here and now that I see him and the girl dancing together, I feel oddly relieved.

Before I can walk away he catches me in the corner of his eye "Mac! I didn't see you there. Wanna come and join me and Kelly ?" He waves me over as he sways back and forth with Kelly practically stuck to his side.

"I'll pass on the offer," I give a forced smile and try to exit the room without any more roadblocks. I almost make it out of the human sweat gathering when a voice booms over the music that a game of truth and dare will be starting soon. This is met with a chorus of excited cheers.

An arm slings itself around my shoulder "You're coming too, right Mac?" Aaron gives me a sloppy grin.

I carefully pick his arm off me and give him a trivial look "Isn't that game a little bit juvenile ?"

He takes my hand and starts pulling me towards another room at the back of the house "Well, it depends on what type of question or dare you get. You'll have fun I promise," he nudges me urging me to join in. I take in the poorly lit room that I can see someone easily being killed in. At least we're not in a basement.

"No thanks. I don't really feel like playing some stupid game made for twelve-year-olds who want to be rebellious. And if I did want to do something at a party it would be destroying a piñata."

One of the girls looked me up and down, probably questioning why I'm even at the party. Don't worry I have no idea why I even bothered coming in here either.

"One question won't hurt you," she says sweetly fluttering her fake eyelashes a couple times. Does she have something stuck in her eye?

"Sorry I don't conform to peer pressure so I'm just going to leave," I point to the doorway.
