Chapter Thirteen: Not So Tough Found Out

I couldn't believe it. I was taking my high school sweetheart's last name. I was going to be his forever.
I couldn't help but look down at our intertwined hands and stare at the ring. It was a beautiful ring. I'm happy. He makes me happy, he's better. Everything is good for the first time in years for us.
I look over at him and just smiled, squeezing his hand slightly, holding tight. He turned to me and smiled back.

"How do you want to tell the guys?" I asked.

"I was thinking we could go to dinner tonight and tell them." He said.

"Yeah, sounds good. What do you think they'll say or do?"

"I have no clue. But I am sure it's going to be just fine, okay?" He gave me a reassuring smile and kissed my hand.

"Okay, I hope so."

9:30 p.m

We all met up at this really nice italian place downtown where we were. It was one of those places where you were required to dress up. Cody got all dapperd up in a black suit with a long sleeve white shirt and maroon tie, slim fit pants that almost looked to be like skinny jeans, only dressier. I put on a black skirt with a long sleeve maroon top tucked in and black high heels.

"So, lovebirds. Why have you gathered us here?" Zach asked. Cody smiled and bit his lip, and looked at me.

"Well, boys. We have an announcement to make. This beautiful, loving and intelligent woman and I are engaged." He had the biggest grin on his face, holding up my hand to show the ring.

"You guys serious?! Oh my god! That's -- That's amazing! I'm so happy for you both!" Dan said. We all got up and hugged each other.

"So that's why you guys were gone all day today!" Maxx said. Cody nodded and put his arm around me, leaning in and kissing my cheek softly, whispering "I love you" in my ear. I look at him and smiled, whispering it back and kissing him on the lips.

11:45 P.M
We all headed back to the bus to pack up since today was the last warped tour date. We all have a late night flight back home to Orlando.
All of a sudden I began to feel sick. I couldn't understand why. Maybe it was what I ate. I calmy walked to the bathroom and turned on the faucet to cancel out the noise of me throwing up.
Once I got it out my system, I turned off the water, grabbed a makeup wipe and acted like I had been washing my face.

Once everyone was packed up and ready, we all got into separate cars and headed to the airport. Cody and I sat in the back together while one of the security guys drove us to the airport.

"I'm so ready to go back home." He sighed.

"So am I, babe. It was fun, but I am missing our bed so much." I leaned my head back and closed my eyes. Cody pulled me into his arms and within a matter of minutes, I clocked out for the night.
