I walked inside the bedroom where our baby would have been. It was all beautifully decorated and and bright. I walked alongside the dark wooded crib, running my hand along the posts. My legs began to tremble and buckle. I fell to my knees and dropped my head. I cried so hard my eyes began to burn each time I blinked.
Why me? Why did I have to lose the one thing I held near and dear to my heart?

"Baby? Baby. Hey, it's okay.." Cody ran into the room and sat on the floor, pulling me into his chest.

"It's not fucking fair." I cried.

"I know baby, I know... I hate everything about this... I hate that we lost our baby... I promise you we will try again." He wiped my face and kissed me sweetly.

"You know I love you so much. And you know I'm here no matter what happens."

"I know and I love you too. I just don't want this to happen again."

"We will take every precaution we need to make sure our future baby is safe and healthy." I smiled and kissed him.

"Now, how about I run you a warm bath and while you're in there, I'll make dinner?"

"I would love that." He then picked me up and carried me into the bathroom, turning on the faucet and letting the water run. He walked back over to me and began to unclothe me gently.

"So beautiful." He whispered as he left kisses on my neck and shoulder. I blush and smile. Once the water filled up, I stepped in, lying back onto the tub and closing my eyes, letting the warm water soak my body.

15 minutes later

After a few minutes, I stepped out and threw on some clothes, and headed into the kitchen. I walked up to Cody and wrapped my arms around him, kissing his shoulder.

"How are you feeling?" He said as he turned around.

"Much, much better. Thank you." I kissed him sweetly.

"Of course. Would you want pasta?" He asked me.

"Obviously." I hopped up on the counter and Cody handed me a bowl. I grabbed a fork and began to eat. Cody stood between my legs, putting his hands on my thighs and onto my hips. I fed him some of my pasta.

"I mean, that was your dinner, but thank you baby." He smiled and kissed me. I finished eating and cleaned up the kitchen. I headed upstairs and climbed into bed with Cody, straddling him and leaning down to kiss him. He gave me that wonderful smile of his. I gave him one more kiss and laid down, getting under the covers and curling up against him.

There's no place I'd rather be than here.
