October 15th. My birthday and the start of tour. I'm unable to go with them since I have work.
I watched Cody put his luggage in the car and get in and drive off. What annoyed me was he didn't kiss me goodbye or even say happy birthday. Maxx walked up to me and hugged me tight.

"Happy birthday, kiddo." He said.

"Thanks. You're the first one to wish me a happy birthday today."

"Cody didn't say anything?" I shook my head and cried. He pulled me into his chest and held tight.

"I'll talk to him. You just wait till you see what I got you when it arrives." I smiled.

"You're so sweet." I hugged him goodbye and watched him as he drove off along with Dan and Zach. They all wished me a happy birthday and said goodbye. Except for Cody. Some Fiance I have.

Maxx POV

We finally boarded the plane and Cody sat by me.

"So explain to me what the fuck is your problem." I said.

"I don't have a problem."

"Oh really? So completely ignoring your soon-to-be wife all morning, not wishing her a happy birthday, not even fucking acknowledging her? You really fucked up dude. It's a shame I didn't get to her when I had the chance. You treat her like shit still. Changed my ass."

"Fuck you. I don't treat her like shit."

"I'm so fucking sick and tired of watching her cry. She doesn't deserve that. That's the worst thing you could do to her."

"I've done much worse. She still hates me for it. She brought it up the other day."

"And that's why you're not speaking to her?! Because she brought up something YOU bragged to her about when you were wasted? How you just loved fucking another girl and how she was so much prettier and skinnier than her? I fucking hated who you were then and I hate who you are now." I grabbed my carry-on and got off before takeoff. I decided to head back to Eisley's house.

Eisley POV

I heard the door open. I walked downstairs to see Maxx.

"Hey." He said as he dropped his bags.

"Hi." I wiped my face and walked towards him. He handed me a bouqet of flowers from behind his back. I smiled and grabbed them, setting them on the counter.

"Thank you, but why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be on a plane right now?"

"I am. But, I decided to hold off on tour and spend time with you unlike someone else. Now, I just ordered some food for us AND I brought a couple movies to watch. You down?" I nodded and we sat together on the couch. This was all I asked for for my borthday. Just to relax and watch movies with Cody. Obviously that's not what he wanted.

I went upstairs to change into comfortable clothes. When I came back down, There were more flowers and boxes wrapped up.

"What's all that for?" I asked him.

"Your birthday gifts of course." I jumped up on the counter and opened them. He got me a new pair of my favorite vans and a few outfits I told him about months ago. I jumped up and wrapped myself around him and hugged him.

"Thank you so much... This means a lot to me."

"No need to thank me. You deserve the world and all that's in it."

"You're the best."

"I try. Now, time for food and movies. Want me to fix yours up?"

"Oh, I'm not hungry."

"Eisley. I've known you for years. You never turn down food."

'I'm fine, Maxx. Really."

"Fuck what Cody said. You are fucking stunning. The first time I laid eyes on you I thought you were the most gorgeous human being on the planet. Just know that in my eyes you are beautiful no matter what, okay?" I nodded and decided to eat.

We were 2 pizzas and 1 movie in and I was ready to knock out.

"Hey, I'm gonna head to bed. You can obviously stay as long as you'd like or you can spend the night." I hugged him and went upstairs to the bedroom. I crawled in bed and began to cry. I felt like I had made a huge mistake by going back to Cody and not running to Maxx. But I also feel fucking useless because that's how Cody is treating me. I'm nothing to him now. He hasn't even bothered to call or text me all day.

"Eisley?" Maxx said through the door.

"Yeah? Do you need something?"

"No, I just wanted to check on you. I know you're upset, but I'd really like to come in and be a shoulder to cry on."

"You can come in." He opened the door and walked over to the bed, sitting beside me. I curled up against him, hiding my face in his neck.

"You know I'm always going to be here for you, right?"

"I know." I gripped onto him tightly.

"I kick myself in the ass everyday for not getting to you when I had the chance."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, I wish I was the one who put a ring on your finger. Not Cody."

"I'm wishing that too." I just laid there. We didn't say a word. We didn't need to.
