Chapter Fourteen: I Can Make You Feel Young Again

Eisley POV

I woke up in time to get on the plane back home.
All night, I was feeling sick. I couldn't figure out why. Maybe it's food poisoning from what I ate at dinner. I'll go to a doctor when we get home.

The flight landed and we were finally home again. Cody and I wasted no time in getting home. We got our luggage, got in the car and left.

"So glad to be going home." He said groggily.

"I know babe, me too. Hey, I uh- I have to make a doctor's appointment." I said.

"What? Why, what's wrong?"

"I've been throwing up a lot and I'm not sure why... I'm thinking maybe food poisoning, but I don't know."

"Hmm. That's weird. Want me to go with you?"

"Yes, please. I don't know, I'm just freaked out I guess. What if-"

"What if what?"

"What if I'm pregnant? I mean, its been 72 hours since... you know."

"Shit. And we didn't use anything..."

"Yeah. Fuck, Cody I don't know. I'm really worried. Are we even ready to be parents? Is it even the right time? What do w-" He pulled over and parked the car, pulling me close to him and kissing me. I relaxed a little.

"Relax, honey. If you are pregnant, then we'll get through it. Okay? I love you. It's going to be alright I promise." I smiled and kissed him again, squeezing his hand tightly.

"Okay. You're right." He smiled and eventually kept driving towards home.

15 minutes later

We finally got home about 10 p.m. we grabbed our bags, leaving them in the living room and heading upstairs to go to bed. We changed into night clothes and instantly fell asleep.

8 a.m.

I woke up to go to the doctor's. Cody was already awake and getting ready. I threw on a pair of black leggings and Cody's hoodie and a pair of maroon vans.

"Ready?" Cody asked. I smiled and grabbed his hand, nodding.

"Good. Let's go see what is going on with you and hope everything is okay." We got in the car and drove to an emergency care hospital that was walk-in. I checked in and we sat in the waiting area.

A few minutes passed, and the nurse called me back. Cody and I got up and  went into one of the rooms.  I followed the nurse's instructions and sat up on the examination table. She then left and we waited for the doctor to come in. I reached my hand out and Cody stood up and grabbed it, kissing me sweetly. He wrapped his arm around me and gently rubbed my side.

"We're gonna be okay." He assured me.

"I know we will. I'm just scared." I was on the verge of crying. I squeezed his hand tighter as the doctor walked in, nerves now settling in.

"Good morning, Mrs. Eisley. I am Dr. Hollingsworth. You are here because of questionable stomach pain?"

"Yes, sir. Uhm, I keep thinking that I may be be pregnant. We didn't use protection and after the 72 hours, I was throwing up non-stop. I wanted to think it was just food poisoning, but I have a feeling that that's wrong."

"Hmm. Well, let's just check. I can do an ultrasound just in case if you'd like."

"Yeah, that sounds good. I just want to be sure." I still had Cody's hand in mine. The doctor walked out to get the gel for the sonogram. I couldn't stop shaking. I was nervous. I wasn't ready to have a baby. We're still too young.

"Alright. Let's get started. Just lay back for me. And please relax. I promise you that you'll be just fine." The doctor assured. I took a few deep breaths and eventually calmed down long enough for him to put on the gel and begin.

"Okay... Well, I can tell you for sure that it's not food poisoning."
