Chapter Twenty-Five: The Less I Know the Better

6:35 A.M 

Maxx P.O.V

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I sat up, shutting it off. I look down to see her sleeping peacefully. I smiled and just stared at her. Her eyes fluttered open and smile emergered. I leaned down to give her a gentle kiss on the lips.

"Good morning, beautiful."

"Good morning, handsome. Why are you awake so early?" She asked.

"Well, normally we have practice, but I don't think there's going to be a practice today."

"Why not?" I sighed and kissed her forehead.

"Oh. Right..." She muttered.

"Don't worry about him. If he ever comes over here, or if he tries to speak to you, ignore him. Let me do the talking at least." She nodded. I could tell her mood had changed. She turned over, her back facing me.

"Baby..." I pulled her back gently to face me. Tears streaming down her face. I wiped her cheeks and ran my fingers through her hair.

"He's not worth this. You know that." 

"I know, it's just. I thought things were better, but obviously they're not. He hasn't changed. I blame myself."

"You did nothing wrong. You did everything right. He doesn't see that, but I do. You're such a good person. That's why I love you so much. You're just so good." I kissed her deeply, pulling her to me and holding her tightly.

"Thank you. I love you." She wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me back sweetly. 

"How about we just go off somewhere? Take the weekend to just relax?" 

"What do you have in mind?" She finally smiled.

"How about we have a Disney weekend, baby."

"Are you serious?" She sat up and latched herself on to me, holding tightly.

"Of course. You need to get away and have fun." I kissed her sweetly and held her close.

"Can't wait."
