OLIVIA'S BLACK BOOTS MAKE A CRUNCH as they connect with the reddish-brown gravel beneath them which paved the way of her new house's driveway; the house which was placed right next to the forest of Idlewood and on the other side of town that was opposite to Lynde's Hollow. The dark-haired brunette looks up at the house that stands in front of her and smiles a large smile, one bigger than she's ever had before. The home is white with two stories and windows on either side of it. There are steps leading to the front door and hedges to make a pathway. The bushes extend to outline the circular driveway that has a working fountain right in the center of it. The fountain isn't on the gravel, though, it was on freshly mowed grass and the young girl assumes her parents had paid someone to get the yard in order before they arrived. It's her first day here in Avonlea and she is determined not to set a bad example for her family as she had in the past.

Olivia had a knack of getting into trouble which earned her, and her family, a bad reputation wherever they were at the time. The Fontaine's tended to move a lot since her father could never get a full-time job. Olivia didn't mind though, she got to see the world when they left. She was only ten when they moved from Olivia's first home in France and headed to New York where there were thousands of immigrants going into the United States. It was the perfect opportunity for her father to get a full-time job as a doctor since there were so many people to care for.

Unfortunately, he never got the job so they moved twice more until they landed here in Canada. Olivia had never been even close to Canada and she felt as though she could burst with excitement. She had always been a quiet girl but anyone who actually knew her knew that once you got past her shy exterior she was a bundle of excitement and wildness underneath.

"Are you ready to go in Ollie?" Olivia's mother asks and the girl nods her head vigorously. Olivia is very much ready for this new start and she hopes that they would get to stay for good this time around. She likes Avonlea very much and as she looks at the trees swaying in the wind and the beautiful field to the right of the house, she prays that her father can keep his job here.

"Ready as I'll ever be." Olivia smiles to her mother and runs towards the fairly big house. She knows there are three rooms and Olivia is ecstatic that she is able to have her privacy. In the other houses, Olivia and her brother Isaac had to share a bedroom. She constantly complained since she was "becoming a woman and needed her own space." Her parents promised that next house they went to she could have her own room and now, she does.

Olivia is 15 now, going 16, and she is beyond happy to start a new school year. Unlike most kids, she loved school. She always felt as if she had more to learn...and she loved learning new things. Olivia would often find herself spending hours on end at the closest library.
