Diamond's POV
Geez! I made it to school before time. Whew!
After last night's episode, I had arrived home at exactly 2:30am. Mom and Violette had been asleep and so I had escaped any questions from them.
This morning, I had swallowed my breakfast in less than three minutes and rushed out of the house hoping to make it in time for my chemistry test, and hopefully I had made it.
I run like crazy to my locker and gathered all I need including a new pen and rushed to my Chemistry class.
Ace catches up to me when I'm almost there.
"Hey friend", he greets and my heart starts thudding and I don't know if its from fear or something else.
"Hey", I breathe and I'm surprised my voice is actually working. I scoff inwardly and remind myself he has no idea I'm Monica and somehow, that calms my nerves a bit.
"Good luck on the test", he says to me.
I chuckle, "I think you need it more than I do. All the best".
He laughs shortly and opens the door to our class. The moment I'm seated, Mr. Cooper walks in and starts distributing the test sheets.
I look up and from three seats ahead of mine, Ace turns and I'm lost in those piercing grey eyes. Geez! What's up with me, grrr.
Then he winks at me with a gorgeous smile. Gah! I smile back and get my pencil ready, willing my stupid heart to stop its frantic beating and this mind of mine that keeps conjuring the memory of his smile. Gah!
Please don't let me fall asleep. Please, please , please...
"Diamond Jewels".
Huh? I look up at Mr. Cooper from my silent plea to no one in particular.
"I'm sorry", I say though I don't think I did anything wrong.
"You don't need it but I'll say it anyways, good luck", he says with a small smile.
I smile back, "thanks".
I glance at the sheet in front of me. Enthalpy change? Well, today is somebody's day. Way to go Trace, oopsy, Ace. I hope I never make that mistake in reality.

Diamond's POV
After buying a sandwich and Dr. Pepper, I join Jessica, Taylor, Travis and Clark at our usual table by the window facing the soccer field.
"Hi babe", Travis hollers as I sit in an empty seat between Jessica and Clark.
"Hey, how did your presentation go?", I ask and take a bite of my sandwich.
"Cool", Travis replies and I nod.
I turn to Jessica and I know she's expecting an update on last night. Travis and Jessica starts to talk about something I don't get, and Clark and his now obvious girlfriend, Taylor are chatting away happily among themselves as I sit with nothing to do but enjoy my lunch.
I am so lost in my thoughts I don't realize Jeremy has come to stand behind Clark's chair which is facing me and his friend, Ace is crouching behind my chair.
"Hi", I turn and Ace is leaning with his left arm on the back of my chair. My heart skips a bit. He doesn't scare me, does he? I don't know but I think ruthless Trace does.
"Hey, how did the test go", I inquire and I notice my friends are staring at us in complete surprise, and almost everyone in the cafeteria is also looking our direction.
