Chapter 10

Diamond's POV

Jessica and my other friends cannot hide the shocked expressions on their faces when the popular clique joins us on our table for lunch.

Ace is sitting beside me on my right and Jeremy is on my left and sitting beside him is Sienna, then Taylor, Clark, Jessica, Trevor, Mia and then Travis.

Jessica and Taylor bonds with Sienna and Mia quickly after they overcome their shocks, and chatting away animatedly. Jessica keeps casting glances my way but I ignore her.

I take a bite from my apple and Jeremy snatches it from me. He bites a huge chunk of it and hums in appreciation. I glare at him and catch Ace roll his eyes at him.

"Jeremy, why'd you do that", Mia questions in her sing song voice.

Jeremy shrugs nonchalantly and takes another bite off my apple. Mia turns to me with an apologetic smile. Sienna and the other girls glance at Ace and starts giggling.

"Hey Ace, you should be happy I took just the apple", he ends with a wink.

Huh?

Both Ace and Sienna swats his arm at the same time and everyone at the table laughs.

"Shut up, Jer", Sienna warns and he puts up his hands in mock defense.

Mia rolls her eyes and turn to Taylor and Jessica, "hey Jessy, Taylor, would you guys love to hit the mall tomorrow with Sienna and me?"

Taylor gapes at her a second and nods.

"Yeah sure, I'm free tomorrow", Jessica quips.

Trevor Smith speaks then, "Mia honey, aren't you gonna ask Diamond?"

"Trevor, she'll be pretty busy tomorrow with her sister's birthday", Sienna replies.

My brows furrow, "um Sienna, how did you know about that?"

"Jeremy", she says quickly and I turn to him.

He blinks a couple of times and points to Ace. I turn to Ace and he glances at his wrist watch and back at me.

"Baby, I've got to go", Ace says to me.

"Go? Where?", I ask him. He cups my face and I lean into them.

"I'll see you tonight", he whispers and brushes his lips against mine. I like the feel of his lips against mine but its too brief a touch.

I nod.

He pecks Sienna and Mia on the cheeks and I hear Sienna whisper, "please, be careful".
He nods, cast another glance at me, then walks out of the cafeteria.

There's a brief silence at the table before the boys start to chat about the upcoming game season, and the girls settle for fashion.

I'm thinking about Ace right now and I wonder where he's off to. Is he going to fight? My blackberry beeps and I pull it out of my bag. There's a message so I open it.

Monica, I need your help ASAP! I know Declan told you you'd be working only after school hours but I need your escort. Will explain later, meet me at the Paragon club in twenty. Ace Milan.
