She sighed. Friday. Last day. Come on, she could make it. Jackie strolled through the huge crowd, trying not to knock into anyone and add another bruise on her arm. She was already in the oldest year, but that didn't mean she was tall. Finally, she made it, and jackie walked over to the pair of boys.
"hey milo, will." she smiled at them both.
"hey." will replied, as milo just nodded.
"ooh, someone looks tired. You've been staying up late milo?"
"yeah, just playing video games a bit too much. I lost track of time." he said quietly. She had no idea.
"oh. Well, at least you have one day left. Then it's the weekend!" she said. He had one day left. She had one day of school, but the work wasn't over. He had no idea.
Further away, mary stood by herself, leaning against the side of the small cupboards. She watched as she saw kodie walk past. Thankfully, he ignored her. He looked worried. Good. Tiannie must of told all her 'friends' about what happened last night. Then, she walked past too, arm in arm with mary jean and Evelyn. Her face was covered in makeup as always, but it couldn't hide the fact that she'd been crying her eyes out last night. Tiannie spotted her watching them.
"and what you lookin at?" she said in a voice much weaker than usual. She still walked past mary like she was nothing. She had no idea. In fact, none of them had any idea. And, as deimante, marrisa and tanisha all walked to tutor, they all thought back to last night. Well OK, that's not strictly true - Tanisha was thinking about food. But the others all thought about the events of yesterday evening. Something big was coming. And they were ready.
