They all got back into the bus, and zodiac drove off straight away.
"you are such an outrageous flirt sugar. You embarrass me sometimes."
"what? Come on, he was cute! And I'm not a flirt - that's just how you taught me to act around men."
"no, I taught you to be attractive. There's a big difference."
"well.. Ugh, just shut up!" sugar put her legs up and folded her arms. She tried to put on a grumpy face, but it just made zodiac laugh.
"it's not funny!" she growled, but soon a smile was flickering over her face. And in no time at all, they had arrived at the school, and zodiac was parking up at the front.
"shouldn't you leave it at the back, with the other mini buses?" diamonds said.
"no, I think we'll keep it. I might use it again at a later date."
The group walked up to the doors, and envy took out a tiny blade. She went round the glass of one of the doors. The glass rectangle fell out, and she caught it at the last moment. Gently, she placed it on the floor, and the rest of them stepped through.
"what about the-"
"security cameras are already down." donuts read demons mind. The place was empty, and it had a nasty, eerie silence. The only noise was their shoes (especially sugars knee high leather boots) clicking against the floor. They passed the reception and continued into the heart space. The tables were all packed away, and all that was left was a grand space. It was very weird to see it like this.
"I've never seen this place so empty before." envy looked around.
"I'm surprised you've seen this place at all envy. What would you be doing in a school? A secondary school at that?" Zodiac asked, intrigued. Envy panicked.
"Hurry up and get an excuse!" she told herself.
"umm..well, I like to.. Y'know, I head here every now and again to choose another victim. I can't decide unless I watch them in their daily lives. I make it fair, and I choose the one that's been the worst."
Zodiac laughed. He had a good laugh - it was hearty, and warm. The warmest thing about him probably.
"envy, I love your style. You are brilliant at times, you know that? Absolutely brilliant."
Envy smiled. She had never received such praise before, especially from a reason coming that quickly under pressure. It was no lie - every now and again, she watched a class to see who was the worst. She just had a closer view than he thought. The group walked past a section of the school painted in yellow, called Neptune after one of the school houses. Demon seemed to be looking at it the most.
"hey, are you alright?" diamonds tapped her shoulder.
"yeah." she replied quickly, but she was lying. She went to zodiac.
"so, they're planning to blow up the school, right?" she tried to sound casual.
"yep. That's right."
"so, what happens to the school if we stop them?"
"well.. If you still want to blow it up-"
"no!" she cut him off. Then she noticed how much if an idiot she'd been.
"um... I mean, what about the kids? All of envys victims could disappear forever. And, is it really worth the effort?"
Zodiac shrugged.
"true. We don't have to." then, he stopped. They were outside of a green section, named Venus. He was looking at a pipe in the ceiling.
"gas." he said. "and they've marked it. That's their plan. So in theory.." he started a quick walk, through the doors and towards the stairs. Up he went as everyone followed, soon breaking into a run. He stopped just outside the science class at the end, and looked up at the ceiling.
"just as I thought." he turned to the group. "this is where they start. So, we will wait up by those windows," he pointed to the set of windows that formed a large triangular shape "and then follow the three of them from there. Sounds good?"
"yes." the girls nodded.
"yes what?"
"yes sir!"
"there we go!" he clapped his hands in joy. They'd better watch out - the SPs were coming. And they were coming fast..
