"Dani" groaning I swatted the person that dared to wake me from my much needed slumber. "Dani come on love wake up" my aunt Claire shook me again.

"It's Tuesday." Oh Tuesday. Slowly sitting up in bed I proceeded to rub my eyes. "What time is it?" I asked my aunt too lazy to check my phone.

"4:40am" She said while giving me a weak smile. Today I was moving from my beautiful home in Sydney Australia to Los Angeles, California.

"You've got 2 hours to get to the airport. Meet me downstairs in an hour okay?" Leaning over my bed Claire gave me a quick kiss on my forehead before shuffling out of my room.

Slowly getting off my bed I walked into my bathroom preparing myself to get ready to leave. I frowned Once I got to the mirror as I took in my reflection. My eyes were puffy and bloodshot, my skin was as pale as Snow and my entire face looked lifeless.

This past week was defiantly number one on my worst week ever list. One call on a rainy Saturday night had managed to change my life forever. One call was the reason that I was moving, one call was the reason for my bloodshot eyes and tattered appearance, one call had changed my life forever.

*Flashback*

"No Andrew I don't wanna go to Alex's stupid party you guys can go on without me." I said into the phone while twirling my hair and trying to concentrate on the biology text book in front of me.

"Please babe? I really want you to come I haven't seen you in so long" rolling my eyes I couldn't help but giggle at the tone of his voice. I could practically picture him pouting at the other end of the line.

"Andrew you saw me just yesterday remembe- Andrew hold on I've got another call" Not waiting for Andrew's reply I quickly switched the call without bothering to check the caller ID.

"Hello I'm calling from St. Vincent's hospital I believe you knew Laura Jeffries this was the last-" I immediately shot up from my bed from the moment I heard my mother's name.

"What do you mean,"knew"?" I choked out while frantically trying to open my bedroom door.

"You were the last person she called and I-"

"Laura Jeffries is my mother what is this about?" I asked while clutching my iPhone tightly in the palm of my hand.

"Miss I'm sorry to inform you but your mother has been in an accident. This was the last number that she had called. You'll need to come down to the hospita-"

"Is she okay?!" I yelled into the receiver not being the least bit concerned on how loud I was being.

"I'm really sorry to inform you but your mother passed away. The doctor's did everything they could but she had lost a massive amount of blood and there was nothing they could-" My phone immediately tumbled to the floor from my trembling hands. Choking out sobs I screamed while clutching my stomach.

"No no this can't be happening" I choked out while whispering to myself. "This can't be happening.. This isn't real.." I repeated while stumbling onto the floor.

*End of Flashback*

I quickly wiped my cheeks at the thought of that night. What was supposed to be a normal Saturday night turned into the worst day of my life. "I can't believe you're gone" I whispered while staring at a picture of my mum and I which was perched on the desk near my bed.

Getting up I took one last look at my room before jogging downstairs to meet Claire.

"I'm gonna miss you so much Dani" Claire said, taking a quick glance at me before returning her eyes back to the road.

"I'm gonna miss you too Claire" reaching out I placed my hand on her free hand while she continued to drive. Giving it a reassuring squeeze I quickly pulled it away before proceeding to listen to my iPod on the way to the airport.

"Flight 182 to Los Angeles, California" sighing I quickly got up and was brought into a bone crushing hug by a sobbing Claire.

"I'm so so sorry baby" she repeated while sobbing into my neck. Pulling away I smiled at her while wiping away her tears. She was obviously still mourning the sudden death of her older and only sister as much as I was. Claire and my mum were always inseparable no wonder she's this torn up. I was all cried out though. I felt too weak and drained to cry anymore.

"Dani" I slowly broke away from my aunt as I heard his voice. 'All cried out huh?' Sneered my subconscious. I couldn't hold back my sobs as I was met with my boyfriend Andrew.

Running up to him I buried my face into his chest and sobbed as he held me close. "Dani I-" cutting him off I placed my lips against his in a goodbye kiss. Who knows when I was gonna get to do this again? Was I ever going to see him again?

Fisting my hands into his soft brown hair I pulled him closer and tried my best to enjoy this moment. I pulled away as I felt his wet cheeks under my fingers.

"Andrew d-don't cry please" I said while crying even more. "Dani this isn't goodbye okay? It isn't I've dated you for the past 3 years and I'm not about to give up on us even if you are moving halfway across the world I-" digging into his pockets he pulled out a small jewelry box.

"I got this for you" he whispered while opening the box. I gasped when I laid eyes on the necklace that he was now clasping around my neck. It was a golden heart locket with an engraving that said,"A"

Biting my lips I stared up into his green eyes while leaning up and kissing his lips once more.

"You should get going baby" he mumbled against my lips as the final warning for my flight echoed throughout the airport.

I reluctantly pulled away while dragging both him and my aunt in yet another hug.

"I'll see you guys soon" I said while turning to walk away from them. Taking one last glance at Aunt Claire and Andrew I boarded my fight. Leaving the place I was born and raised was definitely heartbreaking.

Sitting in my seat I looked out at the clouds through the plane's window and sighed.

"Goodbye Australia" I whispered while wiping away my tears once more.
