I haven't come out of my bedroom all weekend. Daniel hasn't even left yet.
It's the middle of Sunday. Neither Daniel nor I have said a word. We've just sat in my bed, my head on his lap, him stroking my hair.
Daniel's been eating some of the snacks that were in Daniel and my backpacks. I've kind of been in a coma for the past couple of days.
Daniel decides to break the silence.
"So... What's so bad about your cousin Samantha?"
"She abused Jackster and I." I say. Tears well up in my eyes and my throat burns. I can't help sobbing once.
He doesn't say anything. He only pulls me into his embrace and holds me to him.
"I'm sorry, baby." he says. I put my arms around his neck and cling as if he's the only thing holding me together.
Mostly because he is.
Tears stream down my face and Danny hugs me tight. He gathers me in his arms and lies down. I curl up next to him and bury my head in his shoulder.
"I'll stay with you at all times." He says.
"You'd be beaten too. No. You'll just have to stay away from my house." I say.
"You could stay at my house." I blush hotly.
"Do you know what people would say?" I ask.
"Of course I know. But I don't care. I love you, and I'm not going to let someone hurt you when I could do something about it." He states boldly. Tears well up in my eyes again, but I will them away.
"Thank you, Danny." I whisper.
"So you'll stay at my house?" He asks.
I nod.
He laughs happily and I smile at the sound.
"Let's pack your bags." He says.
"Okay." I whisper, getting up and grabbing my cane, slowly tapping my way to my closet. I take my suitcase out of the bottom of my closet and dump my whole closet into it. Then I walk to my drawers and take out my bras, underwear, and socks, dumping them into the top, then blushing when I realize that Daniel's probably staring at the underclothing. I quickly close the top and sit on it, zipping it shut.
Daniel chuckles.
"Are we going now?" I ask.
"Why not?" He asks. I smile and take his arm. We walk through down the hallway, through the kitchen, into the living room, and then I pause.
"C'mon, baby." He says.
"I need to leave a notes for my parents." I tell him.
I hear him grab a piece of paper and scribble something.
"What did you say?" I ask.
"Dear Mr. and Mrs. Grigori,
Your daughter is very uncomfortable with the fact that her cousin Samantha is moving in for reasons that I know but will not specify. I have offered her a home at my house while Samantha stays. I do this in the best interest for my girlfriend, your daughter.
Sincerely,
Danny."
"Perfect." I say. "Let's go."
He places it on the coffee table and leads me to his BMW. We pull out and I hear the van (my mom's car) pull in after we leave. I hear a sad scream, but don't tell Danny to go back.
