After struggling through my first 3 blocks (with Daniel, my guardian angel) we finally get to go to lunch. I smile while walking there, Daniel on my right and the wall on my left...
Until I realize that lunch will likely only be more embarrassing than any of my other subjects, simply because... Oh! I can't see my food! My heart sinks and I squeeze Daniel's hand.
He wraps an arm around my shoulders and holds me close, moving his mouth close to my ear.
"It's okay." He murmurs. "I'll help you." I raise an eyebrow, curious as to how he means to help me.
I snap at him. "You'll feed me like a baby? Yeah, uh, thanks but no thanks." Guilt works its way into my heart the second those words fly out of my mouth.
I lean my head on his shoulder. "I'm sorry, Danny, I'm just tense." I can feel his face shift down to look at me and I reach my hand up, feeling his lips form a u. He's smiling. I smile back.
"I love you." I whisper softly to him. "Thank you for being so supportive."
"I love you too. And I'd never leave you. The vows say, "Through sickness and health"." I blush.
"We're not married yet." I say, dragging out the word yet.
He sighs with relief. "I'm glad you said yet." My blush deepens and I think I of a subject to steer us away from this subject, as sweet as Daniel may be.
"Sooo... What's for lunch?" I ask.
"Pizza." Daniel replies. My mood brightens. Okay. Pizza I can do.
"Yessssss..." I sigh. Daniel chuckles a little and leads me into the cafeteria and into the line.
"I'll be next to you the whole time." He says.
"Okay." I'm beginning to think that lunch won't be so bad after all.
