All My Trials: Part 22

It's my first day back at school. I don't even know if Daniel is real or not. What if I just made him up?
I take a deep breath and look out the window of the bus, my leg shaking in my nervousness, preparing myself for one confusing day.
The bus stops and everyone ejects themselves out. I take my time, eventually getting off behind some guy that smells like he just rolled out of a garbage dump, then walked through a box of cat litter.
A group runs past me, towards the school. I look after them with envy, wishing I had friends right about now when I feel a pair of strong arms wrap around my waist.
I stiffen, not knowing who it is. Is it Daniel?
"Hey babe." The voice says. Not Daniel. I turn around and see some jock.
What?
Why would a jock hug me?
"Ummmm... Hello?" Who is this guy? He has blonde hair that's spiked up and his shirt molds to his skin perfectly. His jeans sit low on his waistline (ew!), revealing the hem of his grey boxers.
"Don't recognize me, babe? It's me, Chase."
"No, I don't recognize you. I don't remember anything." I shake my head, as if that'll help me remember. Maybe shake loose a couple of memories or something.
"Let me help you remember." He moves away from me, him and the rest of his posse coming around to face me. "You're head cheerleader, Coss. I'm Team Captain of the football team, Chase. We're dating. We've been dating for about a wee now. Your best friend is Charlene, or Char, the brunette on my right," He points to a girl--Charlene, who has brown hair and pretty blue eyes, along with flawless tan skin and the whitest teeth I've ever seen. "Charlene is dating Josh, my best friend who's on my left," He points to Josh who has a smirk on his face. Josh is a typical football player. Stocky build, blonde hair, blue eyes, and completely confident. "Then there's the rest of the football team, who you don't really know, and the rest of your cheer squad who you will be reintroduced to at lunch. I don't really feel like reintroducing all of them." He smiles down at me and slips his arm around my shoulder.
"I'm the head cheerleader? Seriously?" Talk about COMPLETE OPPOSITE of the real me.
"Yeah, babe. Why are you so surprised? I mean, you've clearly got the body..." He takes a moment to check me out, and suddenly, I regret wearing a mid-thigh length skater skirt with a tight shirt, wishing I was instead in a baggy sweater and leggings. "And when you're in your cheer outfit, I can't resist you." My eyes widen at his words. They're so... forward. I'm tempted to smack him, but we're on school grounds, and I don't want to be suspended first day back at school.
I really don't know if I'll be able to make it through the day. Popular? That's not even in my dreams. I've gotta get off the cheer squad, and fast. I also need to find out if Daniel is real. And get myself to a piano. I need to express myself.
