Zamon's POV
If didn't find out what Rebecca was going to say. She stopped replying completely, even when the others woke up, there was only static.
JJ said that the only thing that could have happened is that the ear piece could have been damaged somehow. Which means that the FBI could have found it, which wouldn't be good in her case. So now the only form of communication was Jason.
We had been here nearly 3 days. We'd moved to some fancy hotel right around the corner on the second day, but the only news that my father provided was that they were still interrogating her. Now, that could only legally hold her for one more day.
I stared out the window. The view was immaculate, but I only glared at the building Rebecca was being held in. I could hear the others talking behind me in the lounge room on the other side of the door. It made me realize that I was rarely ever alone. All my life, I was surrounded by people, even as a child. The only time I could take a breath was when I was going to bed. But even then, my thoughts consumed me whole-heartedly.
I sighed and turned, exiting my temporary bedroom. We had all split the cost and taken the penthouse, so we could all stay together. It had 6 bedrooms, 3 with Queen size beds, and 3 with 2 double beds each. Keenan and Holland, JJ and Ryan, and Orion took the 3 queens, with Jack and Jason, Hunter, and I taking the other 3 with doubles.
It was nearing 5 in the afternoon, and Jason hadn't been back since leaving at lunch time. He hadn't called or anything, so I suspected they were still trying to get her to talk.
The others continued to talk as I walked passed them into the kitchen. I picked up one of the menu's on the counter. It was for a neighboring pizza place, so I ordered 6 pizza's and went and sat down on one of the couches. Holland smiled at me and cuddled closer to Keenan. I felt someone staring, so I turned and found Hunter glaring at me. I glared back.
"What were you and Becky talking about last night?" He questioned over everyone, who quickly shut up and turned to stare between us.
"How's it any of your business?" I retorted, then smirked. He was getting more angry by the second, and I was satisfied by the reaction.
"I'm her boyfriend!" He bellowed and stood up. I quickly followed the action, not wanting him to be able to look down at me. I opened my mouth to snap back, but a cough stole my attention.
There Jason stood at the mouth of the lounge room, and standing beside him was Rebecca, with dark circles under her eyes. The others quickly stood. Holland was the first to speak.
"Are you okay?" She asked, hurrying over to her best friend. Rebecca simply nodded her head, and enveloped her in a small hug. Once they detached, they both glided over to the couch. I noticed immediately that she was avoiding both Hunter and I's stares.
A knock on the door startled us all, and Jason went to answer it. He re-entered with the pizza.

Later that night, whilst everyone else was asleep, I wandered out onto the huge balcony and stripped, then slipped into the infinity pool. I swam to the edge, and rested my arms on it. I stared at the city lights. It made me think of home. I never liked staying in the city, it was always too loud and too crowded. I would love to live in the woods, or next to the beach. Somewhere I could see the stars.
Maybe that's what I could do once this was all over. I didn't really have much holding me back, other then my friends and my dad. The gang, whatever was left of it was now officially back in the hands of Jason, and considering I didn't want to be apart of it, I had no responsibility for it, so all I needed was a job. Or maybe I could go to college, get a degree and start up my own business. I sighed. My 23rd birthday was just under a year away. My youth was disappearing, and I was struggling to grasp it. I was forced to grow up so quickly, and now all I wanted was to be a child again.
Movement to my right startled me, and I turned to find Rebecca leaning against the edge like me. She turned and gave me a small smile.
"I assume you couldn't sleep either?" she asked rhetorically. I gave her a half smile, and watched her as she looked out at the view. The pool was dark, but I knew she was as bare as me. The thought sent a shiver down my body. I unabashedly stared at her. She was so beautiful, even when I first layed eyes on her. Sure, I was only seventeen and she was even younger, but I thought she was cute then. Now, she was almost 20.
She turned to meet my gaze. Her black hair was wet and slicked to her back, and droplets of water slid down passed her pretty brown eyes. A fat drop slid down her cheek and rested on her top lip. I followed the motion. Her lips parted, and I quickly flicked back up to her eyes.
"What were you going to say the other night?" I didn't have to clarify, she automatically knew exactly what I was talking about. She slowly turned to look back at the city. She was calm, I realized.
"I was going to say that I'm beginning to reciprocate those feelings." It took a few seconds to register her words, and once I did, I turned to find her already looking at me. I had wanted to hear her say that for nearly 3 years. I didn't know how to react.
Instead, I pulled her naked form towards me and wrapped my arms around her. I laid my head on her shoulder, hers on my chest, and smiled against her skin.
