My senses came back one by one, with hearing being first and sight being last. I could hear voices, quiet murmurs and unintelligible words. My mouth was dry, my tongue like sandpaper. The smell of mold infiltrated my nose, damp and cold. My appendages tingled with pins and needles as I felt a wooden chair beneath me. My eyes were heavy as I blinked, groaning at the harsh light above me.
I groaned as I opened my eyes, my head rolling back and forth as I struggled to hold it up. After a few minutes I was finally able to lift my head. I could feel a dull thumping in the back of my skull. I raised my hand to feel my head, but my arms were restricted.
I finally looked around the room I was in. The only light in the room was the one above me, so I struggled to see passed a few metres. The room was cold and damp. I could see the door to my right, and hear voices behind it. Something rattled across from me. It sounded like chains clanging together. I could see the outline of a person against the wall.
"Zamon?" I asked quietly. The chains rattled again.
"I'm sorry." His voice was nearly unable to hear. I opened my mouth to say something, but closed it before I could. What could I say?
I yanked at the handcuffs on my arms and legs before giving up. We stayed like that for awhile, not talking, not knowing what to say. I was nearly asleep when the door banged open and the lights flashed on. I blanked as my vision went white for a second.
I watched Chad drag a chair into the room, the door closing behind him. My eyes met Zamon's across from me. It was weird seeing him chained to the wall in his dress clothes. It was almost laughable. Almost.
Chad sat between us, sitting on the chair backwards with his arms crossed on the top of it. Zamon and I waited in suspense as he just sat there.
"This is what's going to happen. Rebecca, we're going to take you back to the cafe, you're going to get in your car, and you're not going to look back. You're going to go home. You will not try to get in contact with Zamon, you won't look for him, you won't even think of him. Do I make myself clear?" He looked at me as my eyes began to water. I started to shake my head before Zamon spoke up.
"Rebecca, please just do it. Please." My eyes found his across the room. He looked so hopeless, lifeless almost. His own eyes were watering as he mouthed please again.
"Ok." My voice, shaking, was a mere whisper. Zamon's eyes closed at my answer. Chad stood and strode over to me. My eyes remained on Zamon as he undid the handcuffs.
I was yanked to a stand and marched towards the door. Still, Zamon didn't open his eyes.
"Zamon?" I asked, but he titled his head in the other direction as I watched the door close behind me.

"Get out." I listened to the command, tears dried on my face as I stepped out of the van. Chad and another man stood at the door. Luckily it wasn't Tilly, otherwise I wouldn't have gone so easily.
My coat and handbag were shoved into my arms before the van took off with a screech. I could see the fairy lights still on inside the restaurant as I hurried to my car. Once inside, I broke down. Why did bad things keep happening to me?
I'm not sure how I even managed to drive back to the clubhouse. It had begun raining again. I didn't even know what time it was. My phone had died in the time I'd been kidnapped, so it could've been hours.
After reaching the clubhouse I slowly got out of the car. I walked straight the rain, not bothered by how wet I was. It was like I was in a trance of sadness. I pulled open the door and began walking inside.
"Becky?" My head shot up at the familiar voice. A sob resonated through the room as I stared at Holland's worried face. I dropped my stuff and ran to her, basically collapsing in her arms.
"Oh my god what happened? Your heads bleeding, are you ok?" I ignored her questions as I sobbed into her chest. I needed her, I needed my best friend.

An hour later, we were both tucked into my bed, wrapped around each other. It had only been a month since I'd seen her, but it had felt like years. I'd told her shat had happened with Zamon and had caught her up on everything that had happened. She just sighed and stroked my hair, a motherly gesture.
She fell asleep before I did. I stayed up, staring at the ceiling as I contemplated my life and what had become of it. I didn't know what to do. At all. If I never saw Zamon again, what would I do? If I did see him again, what would I do? What would I do in the years to come? What would I do tomorrow? Everything was so confusing. I had no idea of anything. I didn't know what I wanted to do.
My life was nothing. I hadn't amounted to anything. I hadn't done anything spectacular. I'd killed some people, was arrested a few times, but they were not something I was proud of. It had been a long time since I was proud of someone I had done. Not what others had done.
I sighed and rolled over as tears began leaking from my eyes. My thoughts swirled back to Zamon. Back to Tilly and Chad. Back to Hunter. Back to Kyle. Back to Sebastian. Back to my parents. Nothing was right. Maybe nothing would ever be right again.
