Outside the Lookout

The Husky and the Dalmatian are walking side by side towards the Lookout.

Marshall: "Alright just stick to our plan and everything should go our way."

Everest: "Yes! Skye has already spent too much time with my man."

In response Marshall rolls his eyes.

Marshall: "I don't see what's so special about him."

Everest: "I don't know, he's different I guess... I really like how he values who you are on the inside more than the outside..."

Marshall: "So?"

Everest: "I don't expect you to get it."

By then both of them were in front of the Lookout.

Marshall: "Okay, just give me a second to get him."

Everest: "Got it and I should probably hide."

Inside the Lookout

The Dalmatian walks inside. Everyone playing Pup Pup Boogie freezes.

Marshall: "Hey guys and Skye."

Chase: "Nice to see you out of your room, Marshall."

Marshall: "Right. Geez, thanks everyone for the big welcome." He jokes.

Rubble: "What do you expect? You keep on trying to ruin Chase and Skye's relationship!"

Zuma: "Yeah not cool dude. You knew Skye liked Chase and that Chase-"

Marshall: "Okay, that's enough Zuma."

Zuma: "Whatevew." He says turning away.

Rocky: "Come on Chase it's your turn next."

Marshall: "Actually I wanted to talk to Chase, privately. Outside."

Skye: "He's busy."

Marshall glares at her.

Chase: "It's okay. Rubble can take my place."

Zuma: "Dude, youw sewiously going to talk with him?"

The Dalmatian takes a step back, suddenly conscious of himself.

Chase: "Hey, that's my best friend you're talking about." He defends.

Skye: "Really, Chase? I wouldn't trust him."

Chase: "You may not but I do. I trust him with my life."

For some reason, the Dalmatian eyes soften and he looks almost regretful for a second.

Rocky: "Fine but if you don't come back in five minutes I'm going to assume he murdered you."

Chase: "I know what I'm getting myself into, Rocky."

The German Shepherd goes and stands next to the firefighter canine before walking out together.

Marshall: "Wow, thanks for that."

Chase: "It's the least I could do."

Marshall: "But you don't hate me for stealing Skye from you?"

Chase: "Well, you can't choose who to love so I can't hate you for something out of your control. Believe me you know it takes more than that for me to hate you."

Marshall: "Right..."

Chase: "So, what did you want to talk about?"

Marshall: "Um..."

Out of the corner of Marshall's eyes he spots Everest mouthing the words 'Go away'. But for some reason Marshall looks at Chase and can't bring himself to leave.

Marshall: "I just wanted to say... that we're having lovely weather."

Chase: "Um, sure? I guess it is. Was that really all you wanted to say?"

Marshall: "Yeah... You're a really good friend to me, Chase. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve you."

Chase: "That's nice of you to say."

Awkward pause.

Chase: "Anyways, I'm going to head back in." He smiles. "You coming?"

Marshall: "In a little bit."

Nodding his head, Chase goes through the Lookout doors and as soon as he does Everest tackles Marshall to the ground.

Everest: "Why'd you let him go? I kept waiting and waiting for you to do something but you never did! What gives?"

Marshall: "First, get off!"

She complies with an upset look on her face.

Everest: "I'm going to ask you again. What happened? Why did you mess up the plan!?"

Marshall: "I- I don't know."

Everest: "You don't know? Ha, that's funny. You still consider Chase your friend?"

Marshall: "Yes, my best friend. He stood up for me and was the only one welcoming and he... He's still nice to me even after all I put him through..."

Everest: "What? Are you telling me that you already forgave him?"

Marshall: "I don't know... maybe?"

Everest: "Well I'm not letting it go that easily."

Marshall: "But do you really think I even have a chance with Skye?" He doubts.

Everest: "I call it slim but yeah..."

Marshall: "You're just saying that since you want me to take her away from Chase. She literally hates me now. Maybe we should stop and find someone else."

Everest: "Ha. Good luck, because everyone hates you."

Marshall: "Not everyone hates me. Chase doesn't."

Everest: "What?"

Marshall: "He told me!"

Everest: "Well duh he probably forgives anybody!"

Marshall: "No, he doesn't. Even though he has every right to because I tried taking away the love of his life, I threatened to tell his secrets, I even tried to fight him, and on top of all that... he thinks I'm still his hero but I'm not."

Everest: "What are you saying?"

Marshall: "I don't think I like Skye anymore."

Everest: "Just because she hates you?"

Marshall: "Maybe..."

Everest: "Then what am I going to do, huh? What about the plan? How about being with the ones we love and that eventually they will love us back?! You're just going to stop?"

Marshall: "Listen, I don't know, okay? But give Chase a break."

Everest: "Whatever. I don't need you." She dismisses as she storms off.

Marshall watches her go before going inside his doghouse and slamming his door shut.

Marshall: "What am I doing? How is it possible that I all of a sudden stop liking Skye?" She questions. "Is it because I feel bad for treating Chase like trash? Is he that gullible to accept me for who I am? Even though the person I am is horrible! Wow, Everest was right... he is different."

In the back of his dog house, Marshall finds a photo of only him and Chase as the only pups in the PAW Patrol.

Marshall: "How long has he put up with me? Does he really care that much?"

He stares at the picture once again and for some reason his heart starts to beat a little faster and he can't remove his eyes from Chase's face.

Marshall: "He can't find out that I didn't save his life then everyone will actually hate me. I have to destroy any evidence left. I don't want him to hate me." He pauses. "I guess, I know what Skye and Everest see in him after all..."

A/N: What a twist right? And again sorry if this is apparently too short. But as always I hoped you enjoyed it. Bye! 😴💭✨
