Shareen' POV

After the best lunch in the history of the world, the guys, Chuck and I decided to just hang out and talk for a bit at Pete's place. I was super excited because I would finally get to see where he lived. I know, it sounds a bit stalker-ish but hey, I can dream, can't I?

Patrick rode with me and Chuck again though, I had a feeling that Pete was making him ride with us on purpose.

"I heard some of the song ideas you were telling Pete at lunch." Patrick said once we started driving.

"Really? What did you think?" I asked.

"They're great, really. But I don't think we're ready to write just yet." He said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"Because, we don't know each other yet. How can we write a song that fits all of us if we don't know each other?"

I pursed my lips. "I guess you're right. I was just really excited to get writing. But the longer we take the more I can hang out with you, I guess!"

Patrick blushed and laughed. "Yeah, that'd be awesome."

"Hey babe," Chuck said, shoving his phone in his pocket. "do you mind if I drop you off and head home? I've got a few things I need to do."

I shrugged. "Sure, I guess. I'll get Patrick to drive me home." I said, winking at him.

Patrick blushed even deeper and I laughed. He looked adorable when he blushed.

I turned on the radio and The Only Exception had just started playing.

"Oh my gosh, Chuuuck! It's our song!" I said, grabbing his hand.

"It is." He said with a smile. "Ready to sing,  exception?"

"Ready exception." I smiled.

I turned around to face Patrick. "You're going to love this, Chuck and I do really cute duet."

His face seemed a bit down but he smiled anyways. Hayley Williams' voice filled the car and Chuck and I's covered it.

When I was younger I saw,

My daddy cry and curse at the wind.

Broke his own heart and I watched

as he tried to reassemble it.

(Chuck)
And my mama swear that she would

never let herself forget.

And that was the day that I promised

I'd never sing of love, if it does not exist.

(Together)
But darling, you are the only exception

you are, the only exception

you are, the only exception

you are, the only exception.

Patrick's POV

The moment her voice filled my ears I felt jealous. Extremely jealous. Jealous because she was singing with him and it was their song and it would never be ours. I had no idea why I was feeling this. I mean, yeah I guess I liked her, but I never thought it was this much, this way, until I met her and knew it was real.
