Patrick's Point of View

"That went so much better then I expected." Shareen said as we walked out of the studio.

I nodded. "Definitely, you did great." I smiled.

"Thanks, Trick." She said, making my stomach do a dozen back flips at the sound of my nickname. I had missed it.

The interview did go really well. There were hardly any questions about Chuck and the few that were asked hardly had to do with their break up. In my eyes, it was a complete success, the question was if Shareen really thought so. I didn't want to ask her though, she needed space and I could tell that this was something she'd want to keep to herself until she was ready to say it.

"Do you guys wanna go over to my house?" Pete asked us. "Meagan wanted me to do a barbecue, you guys can bring a plus one." He smirked.

"A barbecue!" Joe exclaimed, placing his hands on his cheeks and staring at Pete with fake excitement. "I can't wait to tell everyone!"

He skipped towards his car and jumped in with the biggest smile you had ever seen. He stuck his head out of the window.

"I'll see you all at Pete's house!" He yelled and just drove away like the maniac he was.

Andy turned toward me. "Joe was my ride." He said, pouting his lower lip at me.

I laughed and patted him on the back. "I'll drive you."

"I'll meet you all at my house then?" Pete asked, walking towards his car.

"Yeah," I said. I turned to Shareen. "Are you coming?" I asked her.

She shrugged. "I suppose. Don't really have any plans."

"So we're all just your plan B?" Pete demanded, folding his arms across his chest.

Shareen giggled and shook her head nervously. "Just being honest."

"Whatever." Pete said, rolling his eyes at her.

He walked towards his car and got in, sending a wave behind his back. I grabbed Shareen's hand and led her to my car, opening the door for her and watching as she went in with a smile on her face. I was about to go to the driver's side when there was a throat clearing behind me. I turned around to find Andy staring angrily at me, his arms folded across his chest. I rolled my eyes at him and opened the door for him.

When we got to Pete's house, Shareen immediately ran towards Meagan and Bronx. She hugged them and helped Meagan get the food ready for Pete to grill it. A few minutes after we got settled in, Joe came in with Marie and Ruby in his arms. Joe joined me and Andy while we were watching a movie, Marie heading towards the kitchen with Meagan and Shareen.

The afternoon went by slow but it wasn't bad in any way. I enjoyed myself more than I had in a long while. We watched movies together, Pete grilled burgers and hot dogs, Joe and Andy did karaoke and Shareen joined in from time to time while I tried my hardest not to jump up and wrap her in my arms.

Before I knew it, it was dark outside, Bronx, Saint and Ruby had all fallen asleep in a heap on the couch. Marie had her head on Joe's shoulder while he and Pete had an intense conversation about which Star Wars character was better. Shareen was sitting next to me, her head slowly tilting to the side as she fell deeper and deeper into her slumber.

I didn't even touch her in case she woke up, but I wanted more than anything to place her head on my shoulder and watch her sleep there. She'd done it so many times without thinking when there was nothing else between us but friendship, but now she seemed so much more cautious than she needed to be with me.
