Moonlight Picnic

-Addy POV-

I was telling Maddy her favorite story before she went to bed. It's about some people called shadowhunters. I think its kind of ridiculous, like vampires can walk in the light! While on the 23 chapter, she falls asleep. I put the book down on the chair, tuck her in and sneak out the door back to where I was staying. I was about to unlock my door and then see Levi walk down the hall with a picnic basket and heads towards me. I unlock my door and was about to shut it then i see a foot in the way, shit.

"Hello Adelaide" he says smartly.

"Hello Levi, I was just about to go to bed so I cant chat right now." I reply.

"Well skip that idea and come out on a moonlight picnic with me"

"Um no" I say about to close the door but he blocks it again.

"Just give it a go, please."

I sigh, just 5 more days here then I'm out. I might as well make him think I'm trying. I walk out of the door and lock it again. Levi smiles and starts walking and I follow him.

A few minutes later we are in a clear part of the forest and Levi sets up the picnic. I just stand there awkwardly, he sits down and pats his hand on a spare space on the picnic blanket. It was silent for a while but then he started a conversation. Levi talked about the first time he shifted, how it was painful but his mum and dad were there to help him.

"I remember the first time I shifted and Madelyn" I say and continued "my mum and dad were there as well, when I shifted my fur was white which is quite rare and I thought I was a freak. But mum and dad were there to support me, they knew what to do. But I was the one there for Maddy's shift, we had no parents they were dead"

"I'm sorry" Levi kindly says and rubs my back.

We then hitted off, and talked about our childhood but then he asked what happened in the orphanage. The truth is, the Red Moon pack captured us and faked our death. We were tortured and were used as servants. However one day, a man came named Roman Dawson and helped me and Madelyn get out. He died protecting us and I would do anything for him. But I couldn't tell any of that to Levi so I just made stuff up.

I woke up to see the sun shining and I look around. I was in the middle of the forest, how the hell did I get here? I look beside me and see Levi, shit. I quickly get up and head towards the house and got changed. I was heading off to see Carmen because I was going to practice my shifting today and Levi was there. I jump and cover my mouth.

"Far out Levi, you scared me" I sigh.

"Sorry, you were gone when I woke up"

"Yeah I gotta go see Carmen"

"Why?"

"I'm practicing my shift today and this time DON'T come. I really need to do this"

"Why can't I come?"

"Why so many questions?" asked a voice.

I turn around to see it's Carmen, she grabs my arm and drags me along.

"What do you think your doing?" she asks.

"Nothing, Carmen he talked to me"

"Yeah but you had that Midnight picnic with him. I don't want him in any danger Addy. If you guys mark each other then Darren finds out-"

"He wont. You know why? Cause once I'm out of here, I'm out for good. Now can we go practice my shifting?"

-Levi POV-

I rush back to see Tom and Karly to tell them that there is something up with Darren and Addy. Tom goes onto his computer and adds it to his notes. Who is this Adelaide girl?

-THE NEXT DAY-

I decided to explore the house a little bit and came across a room filled with pictures and portraits. I smile at some, there are some pictures of Levi and his mother. He was so cute when he was little, I'm so lucky he's my mate...wait! What the hell am I thinking? I shake my head and look at the last photo, it's a family photo of Levi, Carmen and their parents. His dad looks very familiar, I look down to see the names and I couldn't believe it. It said 'Roman Dawson'.
