Once she finally fell asleep I moved her back on the sofa. I placed the blanket on her watching her sleep peacefully. I grabbed the blunt from off the ashtray that I was supposed to finish. I lit it up "No more of this shit" I said to myself taking a hit. I quickly called my homeboy Luke to see if he had the information I needed. Luke and I were close in college and from then on we always remained to keep in touch. We were both about to join the military until he figured the police enforcement was best for him and of course boxing was best for me.

"Yo" he answered.

"Yo Luke you got that information I asked you about? I asked dapping the ashes.

"Yeah I got it, heard he stays at his friends crib with a group of niggas" he said.

"Cool, send me that address tho" I said. "I'm on it" he said.

"Bet" I said quickly hanging up. I grabbed my keys looking at her one more time to make sure she was sleep. I stormed down the hallway answering my phone. "Yo"

"Yo Julian what happened? Rick asked.

"Honey's ex beat her up" I snapped pressing the down button on the elevator. "W-what is she okay? He asked with concern

"No like he almost beat her to death. She's bruised up badly and that nigga gon feel it" I said.

"Shit, Julian I really don't want you to do this but its understandable, look I'll fight that nigga myself" he offered

"Nah I ain't gon fight him. I got some words for him though" I said. "So you gon pull up what? I asked. "You don't have to, I know you chillin with wifey and kids"I added

"Link me that address and I'll be there" he said. "Cool" I said quickly hanging up. I put my car in drive and made my way out the garage. So many things were running through my mind. I kept visualizing how that went down and it wouldn't leave my mind.

"Wassup man" I said dapping Luke up. "I ain't know you was coming" I said.

"I ain't know you was coming" I said
