Julian
I felt Sevyn watching me as I did my workout. I continued hitting the punching bag doing my rounds. I turned my music up to block out the noise. It was a lot of my mind and it was one of those days when I felt like hell really existed on earth. I got some devastating news today and the only way to cope with it is to do what I know best. Exercise for a few hours and drown my thoughts with music.
"Babe" Sevyn called. I glanced at her to see her mouth moving but I didn't feel like talking. "Julian" she called. I took my earphones off. "What? I asked.
She scrunched up her face crossing her arms. "I've been calling you for like two minutes" she said.
"Well you got my attention now" I said widening my eyes. "You've been working out for an hour, don't you think that's enough? She asked walking over to me. "No" I said simply beginning to put my earphones back on but she stopped me. "Sevyn please" I begged. She had a look of concern "Baby what's wrong? She asked.
"You barely said anything to me today. I don't like when you're quiet" she said holding my arm.
"I'm good"
" DAMN sometimes I just don't want to be bothered" I snapped. She stepped back "O-kay your wish is my command grumpy" she scoffed sadly walked away. I stopped what I was doing wiping my face off with a towel.
I sighed "I'm sorry baby, its just a lot" I admitted sitting down. She turned around "You know you can always talk to me Ju, you know that's what I'm here for" she stressed. Slowly making her way to me. She sat beside me wrapping her arm around mine. I sighed taking a death breath
"Pete has cancer" I said.
She gasped "W-what? She asked confused. I bent down covering my face. "That's why I haven't seen him" I explained
"Oh , I'm so sorry baby. I know you two are close" she said rubbing my back. We are when my dad and I fell out, he stepped in and kept my head straight. He always keeps it a hundred with me. I consider him family and I can't watch him die. I can't stomach the thought of him leaving.
"You know everyone that has cancer doesn't die. Don't-
"He doesn't want chemo" I said cutting her off. "His wife passed years ago and he just says how he wants to just go home with her. I don't want him to give up though, I'm in my prime" I said. I can't even blame him though. I couldn't imagine someone I loved leaving this earth and I wouldn't be able to see them ever again. That has to be fucking misery.
"How long? She asked.
"3-5 months without the treatment" I said. "Uhh cancer is so tricky sometimes Ju. It may be longer. Maybe he'll change his mind" she said. "I hope so" I said wiping a tear from my eye.
"Come here" she said getting in front of me. I slowly got up as she pulled me into a hug. I sighed holding her tightly. "I know its hard baby but try not to think of the negative. It's in GOD's hands" she ensured.
I nodded my head listening to her. She finally let go. "How bout you wash up and we get some food, my treat" she smiled pecking my lips.
Honey
My co-workers and I came from the Shea Moisture event, sampling a plethora of new products. We also assisted in a photo-shoot earlier with Keke Palmer and I was exhausted.
"Girl my feet are on fire" Ashley said taking off her heels. "I don't know why, you had on wedges" I chuckled. "Oh don't get shady, I like to be comfortable unlike you cat woman" she fired back. I laughed Ashley and I were really getting along it was scary. I looked at emails and I was booked for 6 photo-shoots. I grew excited my portfolio was slowly but surely growing. I can't lie with the help of Julian, people were taking more interest in my work. Things were so much better.I moved all the way on the other side of my apartment complex, so I didn't have to worry about King popping up on me. I know it sounds silly but I love the complex I live in. Its spacious and I wasn't letting my crazy ex run me out of my area. Jeff slowly popped in my office.
