Another Two Weeks

I met with my mom and sister at brunch. We haven't seen each other all together in ages. I was so busy and my sister was so busy with her job. We didn't have time for our old lady. I arrived a little late so I was greeted by Hennessy's big mouth. "You're late girl" she said. I simply ignored her "Hey momma" I smiled giving her a hug. "Hey baby" she smiled kissing my cheek. "I got you something" I said handing her a bag. I sat beside Hennessy placing my purse to the side. "Aww this is such a pretty bag. Thankyou, I love it"

She said.

"Yeah it goes with anything and I know you love Coach" I said. The waitress came over getting or drinks. I continued to look on the menu to see something appealing to my eye.

"So, how you've been holding up since the situation? She asked. I was hoping she wouldn't bring it up. It only made me overthink about it and get sad all over again. The night I went home, my mother woke up to me in my room. I told her everything that happened but I never updated her.

"Still haven't talked to him, its been about 3 weeks" I said. "Well you know he's a busy guy. All those matches and things" she said flipping her menu.

Y-yeah" I said lowly not trying to feel a way about her remark. She's immune to that kind of behavior that's why she thinks its okay. Its crazy coming from me seeing as though I came out of a bad relationship, but I'm learning now. My mom and father are on great terms now but we can't forget that what he's done to my mother. Come to think of it, all of this was making sense now.

"You would think he would check up on me though, rather than getting lap dances and staying in the club now" I said rolling my eyes as I broke my piece of bread away. "Phone works both ways" Hennessy chimed in.

"Tuh, I would never" I said. "Well I have good news" My mom smiled

"Me too" Hennessy said twiddling her thumbs. "You go first mom" I said.

"Your father and I are renewing our vows" she said. "Whaaat? Hen smiled. "That's great, congratulations mommy" she smiled. I was taken back a little that I didn't even notice how delayed I really was.

"A- Aww Congratulations, that's great" I smiled taking sip of wine.

"Well I do have good news, I'm just a little nervous to say it" Hennessy said looking over at me, as if she needed permission.

"Just say it" I said slightly shrugging my shoulders.

"So you know Tristian and I are on good terms and um went to the clinic and I found out that I'm 4 months pregnant" she said. When she said I felt my mouth drop to the floor. You mean the whole time she was pregnant and she didn't tell me?

"Oh my goodness, congratulations sweetie" My mom smiled.

"Congratulations" I said. It was definitely a delay. I just wasn't expecting this. "I didn't know I was, please don't be mad at me" she frowned.

"I'm not mad at you Hen. I'm happy for you" I said. She looked at me almost as if she didn't believe me. "Just because I lost the baby doesn't mean. I spite you" I explained. She rubbed my shoulder "Are you sure? She asked.

I sighed "I never wanted to have the baby, so when I lost it....I felt relieved but, I just feel bad that I naturally didn't feel any joy towards being pregnant. That's all" I said.

"It happens, not all women naturally feel excited about being pregnant" My mom chimed in.

"Look its not about me. It's about you, I'm happy for you Hennessy and I mean it" I smiled. She smiled back "Thanks sis"
