"Well fix it Honey it was your responsibility to go to a Revlon event not start up some commotion " Her manager Kay stressed making sure no was one around.

"You don't know the whole story Kay. I mean this is Bronzy magazine which is meant for Black women remember" she argued crossing her arms.

"I know what my company stands for" she said slightly offended. "Well that white dude was being rude to one of the models. He basically said she was too dark for red lipstick. Like black girls can't wear red lipstick" she scrunched her face.

"I hear you, I do but your job was to trial some of the products not become Rosa Parks" she said.

"All I did was politely correct him" she debated.

"Yes which turned into a heated , lengthy argument that didn't get the job done" she fired back.

"Okay I'll just go to Target and purchase some products and test them myself. Okay Kay Kay" she said patting her shoulder.

"No need to do that. Black Radiance is having a new launching event this friday. 7 to 9pm" she said.

"See that's what I'm talking about Black Radiance for us by us" she joked.

"You and Julie are to go and I expect a plethora of reviews on the product as long as new ideas for articles" she said. Honey rolled her eyes "Uhh Julia is so annoying what about Jeff? She questioned.

"You and Jeff won't get a thing done. This conversation is over" she said beginning to walk away. "Oh and Honey for the record this is my company" Kay said stopped before walking away. Honey pouted turning around "This is my company" she mocked her walking back into her office.

"Honey Honeyyyy" Jeff waltzed in my office. Jeff was my gay friend that worked with me. I met him at NYU's fashion show and we clicked ever since. I was head beauty editor for Bronzy magazine company. It was my job to keep on top of all of the upcoming beauty trends, attend loads of events, trials products, and comes up with fresh article ideas to inspire the reader. I as long with co-beauty editiors below me come up with concepts for beauty photo shoots, work with models, makeup artists and photographers to capture perfect images for the magazine. I also was a photographer on the side. My dream was to have my own photography studio.

"So what's this is I hear about men being in our magazine. Go to page 5"he said flipping the page. When I flipped the page I was astonished at the cover.

"Wow this is Julian" I said looking at him on the cover. Damn this man glowed up. Julian has always been cute and chunky but this right here was a man. I've heard about him being a boxer, but I don't recall him being in this article. I havent even had time to look through this magazine. I'm too busy working on the next edition.

I read his biography looking at his pictures. "Girl that Julian is fine as hell. I bet I could turn him the other way" Jeff said flipping his 20 inch weave.

"You go Julian" I said to myself. "Damn girl is this your ex husband? He laughed. I placed the magazine down rolling my eyes.

"He used to be my best friend in middle through highschool" I said. "Ohh that's who you were telling me about years ago. Umm well I wouldn't want him to be my bestfriend. Fine ass" he said.

"That he is" I said. I was interrupted from my thought when Julia knocked on my door. Julia was a nerdy black girl that could barely dress and just didn't have good material. "Yes Julia" I said. She nervously came in "Uh I came up with some ideas for an article" she said handing it to me. I quickly opened it scanning through it. Julia always had the same ideas over and over again.

"A sleepover? I asked. "Yes I was thinking a sleepover shoot and-

"Julia we just did a sleepover shoot a few weeks ago. I don't want Kay up my ass. You need to think of something else.. please" I said handing her notebook back to her.

"Right" she said grabbing her notebook back. She left with her head down.

"Damn Honey your so harsh" Jeff stated sitting down. "I'm not .. she just needs to try harder. This is a magazine company this aint no little company" I said

"Someone needs to get laid" he mumbled. I placed my feet up "Actually I am and its lovely" I smiled.

"Yeah because that's all he has time to do. He needs to find a job" he scoffed. Jeff hated my boyfriend King. King was an inspired rapper and he put all of his focus on that. He did lose his government job and it's been making me stressed.

"I know" I sighed placing my palm looking back at his article. There was a pause as I kept reading.

"Why don't you reach out to him. I'm quite sure he'd be happy for you. Ya'll literally are neighbors. Well at ya'll parents house" he explained.

"Uhh it was just be weird. I haven't talked to him since high school" I said. "Well I wouldn't throw away a decade worth of friendship" he said.

"So can you please go to this event with me. Julia will bore me to death and maybe beat my face" I begged.

"Bitch don't change the subject on me but if you're driving sure" he said getting up.

Keep reading guys. Tell me what you think :)
