The next day of school rolled around and Jon had barely any sleep, but he was still ready. He wasn't going to let any fear beat him down, since he was too curious about what could happen. He couldn't stop thinking about Amara's words, and how she reminded him exactly why he liked Evan in the first place, and with that in mind he had enough strength to step forward, even with all the nerves. He continued to walk down the hallway, as Evan saw him and approached him. "Hey uh, can you meet me at lunch today?" Jon asked seriously, looking up at him. Evan just chuckled a bit, "Yeah, I'll be there... uh, are you alright?" Evan asked, looking over at the lockers "What do you mean?" Evan smiled a little "Never mind, I'll see you at lunch..." He then turned around and went back to his group of friend. Jon continued walking to his classroom.
Before he walked into his classroom, he once again saw Evan with Rose. He watched them talk to one another, as though they were friends in another lifetime. "They look so good together" Jon thought to himself. He watched as they sparkled, and lit up the hallway. Suddenly Evan looked over and then Rose did too, and as their eyes watched Jon, he couldn't help but feel extremely small and dark. He then jumped, realizing the situation, and began running in the other direction. As he ran, he thought he heard someone call out his name but he wasn't too sure. He continued to run, all the way outside, until he was standing in front of the bench in the garden. He turned towards the fountain, and walked over to it looking into it. As he leaned down and began playing with the water. Only until a tear dripped into the water, did he realize he was crying. "Hey" the voice sounded out of breath, and Jon would have turned around if he wasn't crying, he just continued to swirl his hand in the water "Hey" he said back to the familiar voice. Evan then walked up and sat right beside Jon. "It's not lunch time yet" Jon mumbled out, still looking down at the water. "Well it seemed important" there was a long pause, and all you could hear was the fountain water flowing. "Did you need to say something?" Evan asked, looking right at Jon. "Wha-what's..." Jon mumbled out "Your, uh... relationship" He took a deep breath "wi-with h-her"—"Her?" Jon didn't answer, he couldn't get another word out, he felt like if he said anything else he would blow up. "Do you mean Rose?" The name struck Jon, like even her name would pull Evan too her more. Jon just nodded his head in response.
