Evan smiled a bit, "She gets a lot of stuff I've went through in my life, she's a really good friend"—"you've known her for a while?"—"Well I started talking to her in high school, so not really"—"You aren't dating?"—"No we aren't"—"Do you like her?"—"No, not in that way at least"—"Do you like me?" Jon didn't move but he looked at Evans reflection in the water. He was staring right at Jon. "I'm alright with this reaction" Jon thought to himself, he then laughed a little "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you" for some reason he felt more at ease. Even more then last time when he shouted it. "You don't have to answer me... well not until lunch at least" he said smiling a bit. He then stood up, and walked back to class without even looking at Evan.
After class, Jon tried to get to the Garden as fast as he could. He didn't necessarily want to get there that fast, he just didn't want to make Evan wait if he was there. Once he got out there, he sat down on the bench and began eating his lunch. He looked up at the huge tree that hung over the fountain. The tree blew around in the wind, dropping a few flowers into the fountain. "I wish it could be spring forever" Jon whispered out. He began to hear footsteps in the grass. As he looked up to see Evan. "Hey" Evan mumbled out looking over at the fountain. Jon moved over on the bench making room for Evan. Jon continued to stare at the fountain as he breathed in and out, smelling all of the plants and dirt. "So d-did you think of something to say?" Evan tensed up, "I uh.." Jon looked over at him, freezing in place when he saw the huge blush on Evan's face. He quickly looked forward again. They sat there, for what seemed to be hours, none of the time was awkward or uneasy, and they just felt at ease around each other.
"I definitely like you" from the long silence, it felt like he was shouting it. Jon then began coughing "What? I seriously don't think I heard that right?" he was still coughing in between words. After Jon regained himself, he looked over at Evan, who was looking in the complete other direction. Jon eyes opened up, "You're not serious, right?" Jon said slowly. "There's no way" the words repeated over in his head. Jon's entire world was spinning, "I don't believe it..." Jon whispered out, he said it again and again until Evan finally turned towards Jon. He looked embarrassed and uneasy "I..." quickly Evan turned back around "I'm sure..."—"You're sure?"—"I like you"—"what?"Evan turned back towards Jon again, grabbing him by the face "Don't make me say it again" their faces were right in front of each other's making them both blush, he then quickly let go, as they looked forward watching the fountain. "I truly wish it could be spring forever!" Jon shouted out, Evan just looked over at him confused but then began laughing "...and I definitely like you Jon!" he yelled out in return. Spring quickly went by, and eventually everyone graduated and moved on in life, but the memories that Jon had with Evan never faded away.
