Honestly got super happy when I saw Hanzo's archery highlight reel.

Hanzo and you had been dating for nearly two years. It was an average summer day in your home and your boyfriend rushed down the stairs in a huff. He was wearing a pair of shorts and a polo shirt. A wide smile was plastered to his face and he stopped directly in front of where you stood by the counter.

"(Y/N)," he started slowly, putting his hands on your hips and looking deeply into your eyes. "You know I love you very much and how I would put you before anything. There's just one thing I need to ask you." Your heart fluttered in your chest about what he could possibly ask you.

"What is it, babe?" You tilted your head slightly, waiting with your curiosity peaked. Heartbeat pounding, eyes wide, you could feel your anticipation growing at an astounding pace.

"Will you," he cupped your cheeks gently in his calloused hands. You could feel his breath getting closer to your lips and you slowly closed your eyes, awaiting both his question and a kiss. "Take archery lessons?"

Wait, what?!

"Archery lesson?" Your eyes snapped open as your face began to grow red with embarrassment because you had definitely misinterpreted what his question was potentially going to be. His lips cracked into a bigger smile and he kissed your forehead gently.

"Let's go down to the archery range and I can even let you practice with my bow," he turned on his heel and walked rather briskly out of the back door to your shared apartment. You shook your head, hoping to clear out the stunned feeling you had just experienced. As you snapped out of it, a pout crossed your features.

"Wait!" You called after him, pulling on the nearest pair of your shoes. "I didn't even agree!" You chased him down the front steps, but he just continued on his way towards the archery range he had set up in your back yard. He was already picking up his bow and shoving it in your direction before you had fully gotten down the steps.

"Excuse me," you snapped your fingers in front of his face as though it would drag him out of his bow focused mood. "I never agreed to do this. You know I don't know anything about bow shooting."

"Please, (Y/N)?" He turned to you, giving you the most adorable puppy dog eyes you think you had ever seen. "It would make me so very happy if you would be willing to learn about one of my favorite sports." You couldn't help but cave under the look his was giving you. A sigh escaped your lips and your dropped your head before sticking your arm straight out.

"Give me the bow," Hanzo's smile grew as he deposited his bow into your hand. He showed you how to line the arrow up before positioning you in front of the targets. The first shot, he let you take all on your own. Of course, you didn't know what you were doing so the arrow sputtered to the ground a few feet in front of you.

"Like this," he stood behind you and helped reposition your stance in a way that would improve your ability to shoot the bow. He forced your feet shoulder width apart and lifted up your arms to be level with each other before telling you to take another shot. This time, the arrow stayed straight the whole time, but still landed significantly far away from the target itself.

"You have to pull back further to get the arrow all the way to the target," he whispered softly into your ear as he pulled your arm back about as far as it would take to get the arrow all the way to the target. When he let go of your hand, you held your position and released the arrow. It landed a little low on the target, but at least it actually hit it.

After a few hours of Hanzo trying to teach you and trying to help you get better, you finally landed an arrow directly in the bulls eye. With a shout of glee, you put the bow down and threw both fists into the air. When you turned to hug your boyfriend, you saw that he had picked up the bow and lined it up with the target. In a matter of seconds, his arrow was tearing through the air and it tore down the center of your arrow. Because it hit the target with such force, the target literally broke in half.

You looked at Hanzo with your mouth agape, shock pasted to your features as he stood with a smirk of confidence. A pout crossed your lips for the second time that day as you went over to the target to inspect what had become of your arrow. Once you got to the target, you saw something shining in the grass beside your feet.

A gasp left your mouth as you picked it up and you spun around to see Hanzo with a bouquet of roses in his hand. You weren't quite sure where it had come from but it didn't matter. You rushed forward and leapt into his arms, giving him a bone crushing hug as your grip tightened on the thing you had picked up.

"(Y/N)," he started softly. "Will you marry me?" You nodded vigorously against his shoulder as tears began to slide down your cheeks, a wide grin gracing both of your faces. You stood on your own two feet again and Hanzo carefully took the ring from your hand and slid it onto your finger.

"Now, are you not glad you said yes to archery lessons?"
