Peter Parker and Danny Rand had chased after the dark shadow after running to the bathroom to change into their suits, leading them through a wrecked classroom and outside. The manicured lawns of Midtown High were the same as always, at least the same as it has been every winter. The beast that they had been chasing, which they could now see was some sort of muscular, black wolf. It raged through the snow, gouging the thin layer of powder with unnatural saber tooth-like tusks that were as black as the rest of it's body. "What? Trying to make a snowman?" Spider-man had called, shooting web-fluid at the monster. It roared with a blast of sound that pushed the two heroes back slightly, and that bounced the web-fluid back towards the pair, where it catapulted back, hitting the spider on his red and black mask.
"Plegh! I can see now why baddies hate it when this gets in their eyes..." he spat, wiping his face. He turned slightly, trying to get the fluid off his face, and when he got it off, he spotted the two girls. "I mean, I know I'm cool, but you don't have to imitate me. Like, seriously. You could get hurt," Spider-man called, glancing at the new spider-themed girl that had appeared out of nowhere. Well, not from nowhere. Just, you know, the future. Not that he knew that.
Before he could push her back out of harm's way, the wolf did his work for him, except she wasn't out of harm's way. Mayday was most certainly in danger. The wolf leaped, it's red eyes flashing with a dark, inhuman menace, and landed on top of the girl. Without a second's hesitation, the second girl in a hoodie held out her hands, a mystic light surrounding her as two beams of pure power shot forth, knocking the beast from her friend.
"Uhm, some girl with powers? Powers that look quite similar to the powers of a certain bucket-head that we know? Can we trust them?" Spider-man whispered to Iron Fist, watching the girls as the spider-themed girl wrangled her way onto the wolf's back, and attached webs to the beast's teeth, using them to ride the animal like a bull.
"A stranger is a friend that you have not yet talked to. It seems that we can trust them for now," Iron Fist responded.
Spider-man nodded slowly. "Then let's show these rookies how it's done!" he called, rushing towards the beast and the girls.
