Theresa could feel a blush slowly creeping up her cheeks, her face heating slowly like a phone that's been in the sun too long. Mayday glanced over at her, trying to hide a grin. She couldn't help but ship her two friends super hard- it really had been a lucky day when Loki had joined the Avengers. Well, it wasn't lucky that Darkhand was slowly taking control of the Galaxy, and that Loki was the last of the Avengers left, but that was besides the point now. It was what they were trying to fix.

There was a short period of silence that stretched like slime between them. Just as Theresa opened her mouth to say something to break the silence, a sudden and quite loud bang rang through the streets, like the sound of a party popper, and a bright flash of color flashed in front of their eyes, successfully breaking the silence for her.

Theresa and Mayday glanced around suspiciously, and Theresa's hand drew closer to the spot where her necklace rested every moment. It was only Loki who seemed calm, as always. "Some kind of magic spell wore away," he explained. "But who would put a magic spell on you?"

The girls glanced at each other, and mentally agreed that Mayday should explain how they had met Doctor Strange's two assistants, unknowingly at first. "I guess anything we do now will have an effect on the future..." she finished, glancing around as if some horrible thing would happen again. But the more she thought about it, the more she wondered: how did that spell even last? Would Peter and Danny just never remember the spider and outer-space themed superheroes who had defeated the venom beast? Would that just assume that they had did it on their own?

As if someone had heard her questions, a sudden roar rang out, and loud stomping footprints could be heard coming from where Theresa and Mayday had arrived from. As they turned, they could make out the jet-black beast like the one hey had defeated before being chased down the street connected to the alleyway they were standing in by two superheroes. "Another one?" Theresa groaned, reaching for her necklace.

Quickly, Mayday reached out to grab her hand, which just centimeters away from the red star. Theresa glanced at her, taking a second to realize what Mayday meant. "Oh, they'll, like, remember us now, right?" she confirmed.

Mayday sighed, glancing behind her, where the monster had just passed. "That's not all," she whispered, as if something would be able to hear her. "If I'm right- and it is likely that I'm not- but there's a chance that the wolf-thing that just ran past us isn't another one. It could be the same beast we just fought and defeated. But just as those girls said, we didn't have an effect on the world around us- so we weren't there to defeat the monster. So it's still alive."

A shiver ran down Theresa's spine at her friend's explanation. They really had had no effect on the world? As if they didn't exist? She opened her mouth to reply, when another roar rang through the streets. Instead, Theresa narrowed her eyes. "Then, if we can't fight it as super-heroes, we'll just have to find a way to help by being normal civilians. I'm not standing by and watching."

Mayday nodded slowly, but it was another voice that spoke up. Loki, who had been silently watching them talk for the last part of the conversation. "Uhm... What about me? I'm not leaving you two to get mauled by a venom beast."

"Uncle Pete and Danny will recognize you," Theresa protested. "And we handled ourselves perfectly fine before. We'll be okay." The norse god raised an eyebrow, but didn't protest. And with that, the two girls went in search of a wolf-monster.
