Throughout class she couldn't help but keep sneaking glances at Peter, he looked so different but still the same somehow. The class was a breeze, afterall Theresa already learned everything back home so she could focus on her mission rather than her 'studies'. Apparently Evan didn't have class today, as he was showing new students around the school. History was over, next came English, which once again Peter was in her class.
Theresa felt like a ticking bomb sitting here listening to the teacher drone on and on about things she already knew. Something might happen! She has to prepare! She has to do something! With each second that passed, she felt more and more uncomfortable. Her hand kept snaking to her necklace, a small tiny star charm, her finger hovering over the small trigger on it. She felt that she could be doing more than this, just sitting here doing nothing! Nothing!
So, her mind wandered. She wistfully thought about Mayday, her best friend from her timeline. Mayday was such a sweet girl, always having something to talk about, some exciting story to share. Theresa would always sit and listen to her tales, then matching them with her own. They could've been normal girls, well, as normal as they could've gotten considering who their parents are. But he just had to destroy the world, then, the galaxy even. Alongside other heroes, they fought, and Theresa had to watch all of them perish, one by one.
The ravenette squeezed her eyes shut shaking away the image of the Avenger's limp bodies. She the hair on the back of her neck rose, telling her someone was watching her. Lifting her head, her blue eyes greeted with chocolate brown similar to Mayday.
"You okay?" Peter asked, worry and confusion laced in his voice. Theresa snapped out of her vigil.
"Yeah," Theresa used her palm to dab away the small tear that leaked from her eye, "I'm fine."
She should be at the time where Peter just donned the Spider-Man suit for good. Suddenly a realization hit her. Her father... wouldn't he be here? Her hand shot back to her neck, a tick she picked up when she's fidgety.
Theresa decided to use the best of her time. She pulled out a purple glittery notebook, taking a second to stare at cover labeled 'My Hopes'. In truth she was going to write her mission reports in there, but now, she was going to write out some plans and the information she want to gather or have gathered so far.
The classes passed quickly after that. Soon it was chemistry. Theresa found a desk in the very back of the classroom., and resumed her plotting.
"Okay class, take a good look at the person next to you, because they're going to be your lab partners for the rest of the semester!"
Theresa looked up then turned to the right. She choked. She shoved her notebook away, sputtering. "H-h-hi!"
He stared back. "Who are you?"
