Theresa stifled a laugh. Theresa's been interrogated, it's now Mayday's turn. Theresa was going to take the chance to sneak away but decided against it, she should help Mayday, Sam and Peter already know she was there.
Spider-man narrowed his eyes at the girl in a black jumpsuit, "Yeah, mind explaining how you got up here?"
"I, um, climbed? Yeah, I climbed!"
"Great, webhead, we now got two hero wannabes to discourage!" Nova rolled his eyes under his mask.
"Shhh, S-Nova, shut up!" Peter hissed. Soon the two began to bicker and Theresa took this chance to jump off the statue and grab Mayday's outstretched hand and fly away from the two.
"They're getting away!" Spider-man, alway the observant one, snapped out of the pointless argument to swing after the two. Theresa tried to pick up speed.
"I can use my w-" Mayday began, holding up her webshooters. Theresa shook her head even though May couldn't see it.
"NO! Your fath-Peter will see, don't, we screwed up enough to night."
"Okay, you're right, and I should save the scolding for later too."
"Yes please. How do we-"
"Hello ladies! It's a little misleading as seeing you're running away," Sam's annoyed and sarcastic voice popped up next to them causing Theresa to suddenly halt, leaving Sam a little far off as seeing her continued at the same speed. He caught up because he didn't have to carry another person.
Theresa didn't know that to do. Sam's in front of them, Peter's behind them. It's either up, down or alleyway. Theresa zipped into an alleyway descending at a rapid pace. The floor was getting closer, Theresa released her grip on Mayday and she rolled to the floor, allowing Theresa to slam into a brick wall by herself.
"Owwww," They groaned simultaneously. Theresa quickly took the necklace out of the place in the suit, leaving the suit to disappear. She also shrugged the sweatshirt off, ignoring the pain in her shoulders. Lastly, she pried the mask and stuffed it into her pocket.
"You're in your pajamas?"
"And you're in a leotard."
"I am."
"I am too."
"Did we lose them?"
Theresa looked up at Mayday's question as saw Peter swing by, not even glancing in their direction, "I think so."
"Now to get back to the Stark Tower?"
"We'll wait for a while, for our parent-no, Sam and Peter to go home."
Mayday frowned, "What's with you and not calling them our parents?"
"Because they aren't! They're this dimension's! Not ours, maybe we won't ever exist in the dimension, then they won't be our parents! They aren't our parents."
Mayday didn't say anything, but just turned and looked out the alleyway.
"We can think of them as people our age, other teens," Theresa shrugged, trying to lighten the mood.
"People that we know everything about."
"That's right, webhead, blackmail!" Theresa tried to laugh evilly but it came out more like a tortured pig. But it caused both girls to break into hysterics so it served it purpose. After a good hour of whisper-talking about plans, randomness, and laughing they figured it was safe to go back. And sure enough they made it to the Stark tower without any hindrances.
But they never noticed the black eyes and sinister smile that watched them climb back through the windows.
