She gulped. "I like to, uh, read!" She blurted, her hands clutching the backpack straps even tighter.

"Read, huh?" Evan raised an eyebrow. Theresa narrowed her eyes. What is he doing? Isn't that expression used to show confusion? What is he confused about?

"Yeah," She breathed, "What about you?" Yes! She did something right!

"I like sports," The blonde shrugged, "Come on, I'll show you around."

Show her around? She knew the whole layout of the school! Is he going to take her somewhere weird? A secret lair, perhaps. She can't trust him. She can't trust anybody.

"I," She began, searching her mind for a good excuse, "want to get to class."

"You don't have to go to class today," Evan stared at her. Is he suspicious already?

"But I would like to," She looked around for an excuse, "Look! That new girl looks more lost than me!" She pointed to a ginger girl, sporting wire frame glasses with a timid expression. Theresa then bolted past Evan to her first class. In her rush, she missed the wide smile Evan flashed at her fleeting figure.

She finally let herself breathe when she sat down into her seat. She didn't notice the other boy next to her until her elbow hit his. She practically jumped out of her seat. There's another one!

"S-Sorry!" She squeaked. The brunette shook his head, telling her it's okay. Theresa scanned him. Brown hair, brown eyes, t-shirt and normal pants. He could easily hide a weapon in the baggy jacket he wore. Theresa had to be alert. But part of her mission was the blend in, which mean making friends, which also means talking to people.

"Hi, I'm T-Selena, I'm new here, you are?" She mentally cursed herself for almost saying her real name.

"Peter," The boy, Peter, smiled at her. There! That smile! He's trying to turn her senseless too! No, Theresa wouldn't fall for their charms. A small frown graced Theresa's lips. Right now she just wanted to have a nice long conversation about how to decrease the size of her spy watch with her A.I., V.A.E.P.I. Thankfully, she was saved from further awkward conversation by the teacher, who strutted in at that moment.

"Okay class, did everyone buy their textbooks this year?" The teacher's low booming voice resounding in the small classroom. Theresa rummaged through her bag ad produced the thick purple book that contained the world's history. But not future. Theresa thought wistfully.

Theresa was hoping to get thought a good peaceful first day, but luck wasn't on her side.
