Jungkook seemed to fall into a simple morning routine as his life began to calm down. He walked on the familiar path every morning with no interruptions. But this particular day however, he accidentally collided with an old friend.
"Oh, Jungkook, hey- it's been a while."
The latter predicted he might run in to the individual, but he didn't expect the conversation to be so casual.
"Hey Jimin, yeah- it has been a while."
Jungkook attempted to put emphasis on the word "has" as if there was a reason why the two haven't conversed for a period of time.
"Yeah, we should hang out again. I'm going to Hoseok's party tonight, you should come with me."
"Um, no- I think I'm good, thanks."
A small hint of anxiety built up inside Jungkook's chest. He was reminded of the last party he went to, and he remembered how amazing it (or he) was, and so he decided to decline Jimin's offer.
"Hm, okay, suit yourself. I gotta get going, so I guess I'll see you around."
"Yeah, I guess."
Jimin flashed a small, half-smile before stepping past Jungkook and walking away. It was obvious that the two still weren't friends. The conversation was casual yet awkward, and Jimin ended the small talk with the understanding that the two weren't going to make further plans.
Jungkook proceeded on his walk, pondering his entire friendship with the other boy.
'I wish I could run back and tell him that I miss him... I just want to be best friends again.'
Yet his feet don't find the strength to turn back.

The rest of Jungkook's day seemed to be ordinary until evening rolled around. The peace of the small neighborhood was interrupted by flashing lights and blaring sirens. Everyone knew those were the signs of a surprise visit from the raiders. Jungkook's first thought was of Jimin at the party. He feared the raiders would bust the party and all hell would be let loose.
His deep concentration was disrupted by a rather loud knock on the front door. Junghyun opened it while scolding Jungkook, saying something along the lines of "make sure you don't get in their way." But the younger was primarily focused on helping Jimin, and he was certain his only way was to sneak past the raiders.
The intimidating men search the entire house, leaving nothing but a large mess behind. Jungkook carefully watched outside from his window, waiting until the raiders drove out of sight. He then opened that same window, and he quietly crawled outside. The familiar feeling of anxiety returned to Jungkook. But in order to avoid the raiders and find Jimin, he felt he needed to block out his emotions.
Every few blocks, Jungkook hid behind a bush, or a tree, to conceal his presence from nearby raiders. He seemed to get used to the concept of running and hiding, since he'd done it before. Jungkook reached the party with no issues, and he scoped the area, not noticing any sign of raiders. He decided he would run in quickly, grab Jimin, and then warn him of the situation before sneaking back out.
Jungkook didn't anticipate the large mass of people when he stepped into the house. He expected a big party, but the house was quite small, so it was a tight squeeze to fit through the crowd. The biggest dilema though, was that it would take longer than presumed to find Jimin. Jungkook began to frantically find the latter, not having a greater strategy.
A loud bang startled the entire party, causing everyone to go silent and then simultaneously scream. Jungkook observed the chaos for a moment; he realized he needed to run to save himself, it was too late to find Jimin now.
