Jungkook woke rather early this morning. He and Taehyung planned to go to the Crypts, an asylum for criminals that are diagnosed with deliria. After the couple's small discussion, Taehyung concluded that the younger's mother lived in the Crypts, and they could find her.
There was only one other time Jungkook had visited the Crypts. It was on a mandatory field trip in the second grade, and he remembered it as a more frightening experience.
But this time it was just the two, and Taehyung dressed as a guard to guide Jungkook through the building easily. They made it down to the hallway that read "Ward Six."
"This is where we're going, this is where all the lifers are held."
Taehyung strides behind the younger, but pulls him back when he sees the guard ahead. The usual guard wasn't there; he was a sympathizer, so he and Taehyung were good friends. But he wasn't sure about the current guard on duty.
"Excuse me, sir, what happened to the last guard here? I haven't seen you here before, so you must be fairly new."
The guard glared at Taehyung before chuckling ignorantly.
"You don't know? Don't you work here? There was a recent breakout, and that guard was involved so he was reassigned."
"Reassigned...okay."
Taehyung felt suspicious of this guard, but he made a promise to Jungkook, and he was going to carry it out so he stepped past and continued walking.
"Did that seem a little weird to you?"
Jungkook questioned as he caught up with the older's pace.
"Yeah, it seemed very odd actually. A recent breakout? I feel like I would've heard about it- oh no."
The two stop in front of Cell 118, where Jungkook's mom was supposedly held, but the cell had been blocked off with caution tape on the entrance. Taehyung observed the cell from a distance, and he could see a giant hole engraved into the back wall leading to the outside of the building. As he stepped inside the cell to look closer, he noticed letters engraved around the hole, forming a word.
"L-love."
Jungkook read the word in a shaky voice; he was still trying to fathom all the details.
"Yeah, I think your mom was the outbreak. She must've carved the word love so many times that the "o" eventually went through."
"So she escaped?"
"That's the most probable case, and assuming she hasn't been caught- because she would be brought back here- then she's probably still out there."
The younger sighed, "so she's alive but missing."
