Both Taehyung and Jungkook sat outside of the Crypts while the younger processed the recent news.
"I just feel so lost, yet found at the same time... how can my mother be alive and missing at the same time?"
"I don't know, the whole situation is confusing-" Taehyung held his boyfriend's hand and scooted closer in attempts to comfort Jungkook. "-but everything will be off your mind once we run away from this place."
"How can you even think about running away right now? My mother is alive, I need to find her."
Jungkook had a more serious, aggravated tone as he spoke.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that-"
"Then what did you mean?"
Taehyung paused for a moment, thinking carefully about what he should say next.
"I just mean, even if we were to find your mother, she would most likely be arrested soon after, and maybe even us too."
This time Jungkook was on the verge of tears due to frustration.
"Well running away is just as equal of a risk to ending up in the Crypts, so what's the point?"
"Kook, it's because I love you, and I want the best for you and for us. I told you before that I would protect you at all costs, and I would never put you in a situation if I knew we would be caught."
Taehyung let the words spill out of his mouth as the latter sat there in a complete shock.
"I-I love you too, Tae..."
Jungkook paused to wipe his tears and consider the rest of the older's statement.
"...I guess leaving would be the best possibility for us. But, I'm gonna miss all the good people we're leaving behind, like my brother and Jimin."
Taehyung smiled lightly and rest his arm on the younger's shoulder.
"I know, that's gonna be the hardest part. But you can bring Jimin if you want- he seems like he would be into the idea, and we can plan on leaving in seven days, so you can spend the remaining time with your brother."
Jungkook grinned widely and kissed his boyfriend on the cheek.
"It sounds like a plan."
-
The sun was beaming the next morning as Jungkook walked over to Jimin's. He decided he should ask his friend about the plan as soon as possible so the three could properly prepare in advance.
Jimin answered the doorbell with a big smile plastered across his face.
"Hey, Jungkook! Come in, what's up?"
"Hey, uhh- nothing, how are you?"
The smaller closed the door and casually took a seat on the sofa.
"I'm doing good, thanks. Why are you dropping by so early?"
Jungkook felt a slight anxiety build up as he pondered on the situation.
"Well, I knew your parents would be at work at this time."
"Why do my parents have to be gone? Is it something serious?"
Jimin questioned starting to feel anxious as if it were contagious.
"Yeah, kinda... it's just that Taehyung and I were planning on running away in a week, and I wanna bring you with us... it could be fun, I've been out there- it's really nice."
"Run away? I mean, I admit it sounds nice, but I don't think I can leave 'this.'"
The latter gestured his arms at the last word.
"This?"
Jungkook mocked his friend's gesture as if it was a joke.
"Yeah- I know I used to hate on it and party all the time, but now that I see it, it's a simple, cushy life and I don't know if I wanna risk that. But don't get me wrong, I won't stop you guys- you just gotta promise me that we'll go on one last run together before you go."
The two grin at each other reminiscing on their trips to the governer's statue.
"Of course we will, there's no better way to represent our friendship."
