Jungkook woke up the next morning in a peaceful state; he was reminiscing about yesterday's adventure with Taehyung. But the atmosphere was interrupted immediately as Jungkook opened his eyes and peered at his dark, gloomy bedroom. He remembered that today was the official meeting between him and his match, Brianna. They're set to meet over dinner in his home. Jungkook felt relieved the gathering was in his own abode, nonetheless, he still wished it were possible to see Taehyung. 

"C'mon Jungkook, you gotta get up and help clean, Brianna is coming over today."

The latter groaned when he heard his brother's voice.

"Why don't you sound excited? Weren't you looking forward to getting a match and finally being cured?"

The older questioned Jungkook, taking a seat on the edge of the bed. 

"I mean yeah, it's just that Brianna is kinda tedious."

"Tedious? In what way?"

Jungkook began checking off his mental list. 

"Well, she's into the news and sports, I guess she's on some fencing team, and I was told she has asthma and allergies." 

"But, you know none of that will matter to you once the both of you are cured, not that it should matter anyway; no one is perfect Jungkook."

Junghyun's statement sank into the younger's mind. Jungkook understood what he was trying to say, but he couldn't help to get worked up over the matter.

"I know, it's just that she's not-"

He cut himself off abruptly.

"She's not what?"

Jungkook wasn't sure of how to reply because he wanted to say"Taehyung," but he knew he could never even speak of his name to Junghyun, so he was struck speechless. 

"Nothing, it's nothing..."

The doorbell rang, making Jungkook nearly jump out of his skin. He admitted to a small amount of anxiety, despite not having the desire to meet Brianna. Junghyun swiftly opened the door and politely greeted the family. 

"Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Junghyun- Jungkook's elder brother, why don't you come in?"

The family stepped inside and their eyes immediately advert to Jungkook. The latter smiled and awkwardly made his way over.

"Hi, I'm Jungkook, it's nice to meet you."

The father grinned and shook his hand firmly.

"It's quite a pleasure, Jungkook. You can call us Mr. and Mrs.Kim-"

He gestured toward himself, to the older woman standing next to him, and to the younger girl in front of them both.

"-and this is Brianna, introduce yourself."

Jungkook observed her appearance, taking notice of her natural, light red hair. She spoke with a softness and avoided all eye contact.

"I'm Brianna, it's nice to finally meet you."

Jungkook nodded lightly with a small grin. The older strolled back in from the kitchen and interrupted the chat.

"How about we all move to the couch and talk comfortably, and Jungkook can bring over some waters."

Junghyun guided the family toward the living room as Jungkook trodded into the kitchen. After filling five cups, and struggling to balance them on a thin tray, the younger began making his way back. He could hear a faint voice speaking that sounded almost inaudible.

"-I don't think he is as cute as he was in the pictures-"

Jungkook stopped his tracks when he made out the statement. He set the water down and promptly stepped outside. He wasn't sure why he felt hurt because of some girl he didn't like in the slightest, but he could feel tears welling up in his eyes. A moment later, the door creaks open and then closed, and Jungkook could feel the presence of another person. 

"Hey, I'm sorry I said that and I know I shouldn't have. I understand what you're going through, it's hard."

Brianna holds her hand out and lightly grabs Jungkook's in comfort. The action surprised the latter, and he couldn't comprehend how to react. 

"It's okay, we're a pair!"

Jungkook became puzzled at what Brianna was screaming at until he glanced forward and recognized Taehyung watching the two from across the street.
