A/N: Thankfully, I solved the complaints of my friends about Kyle's and Mara's short time of estrangement. My friends were happy with the previous chapter so, mission accomplished! Chapter 15: YOLO

Mara

"So? Are the designs cool? I was torn between silver or gold so I just went for both." Sara babbled as I flipped through her laminated proposals for the gym design this coming Prom. I was the President of the Homecoming and Prom Committee so it was my job to authorize every decision and make sure everything goes according to plan. The designs Sara had sketched herself were amazing. Custom made props were expensive, yes, but Grazefield High School wasn't short on revenue. My parents' were benefactors of the school along with Kyle's father.

I just found out a few days ago during a talk with Kyle that his dad was none other than Isaac Meade, the CEO and Chairman of CHM International Corporation. CHMIC was an international shipping empire that was started by Kyle's grandfather, Charles Henry Meade. Apparently, the reason my mom warmed up to Kyle was because he turned out to be the only son of Isaac Meade, the man my parents' were trying to set up a business contract with. Simply put, she found out that Kyle was stinking rich.

This was the issue with Randy before. Randy wasn't rich enough like Kyle and I. Randy's father was illegitimate. Richard Meade was the result of an affair of Charles Meade. So being born out of marriage, Randy's dad couldn't inherit the company despite being the first born. He did inherit a small fortune enough to open up his own restaurant. Isaac and Richard acknowledged each other as siblings but never really got close. Isaac was too busy with his company and Richard moved out here to Grazefield where he met Aunt Cathy and had Randy. The two cousins used to see each other when they were little but when they became teenagers they gradually drifted apart. That's why Randy never mentioned Kyle to me before.
