Chapter 9: Headbanging among other things...
Mara
Four days later
"Hey, you!" a voice exclaimed behind me and I jumped from my seat and hit whoever it was who decided to play with me.
"Kyle! Uh, you jerk!" I screamed at him but he just burst out laughing. He doubled over and continued cackling. I huffed out in anger and and walked out of the classroom to the cafeteria. It's been four days since Kyle started tutoring me and we were getting along just fine. He was funny guy and he was extremely polite. But there were times like these that he just made my blood boil.
"Wait, Mara! Please wait!" he called out to me as he dodged the students that had started filing out the halls. I ignored him and picked up the pace. Although, it was dumb of me to think that I could outrun him with his height. He caught my arm and spun me around.
"Mara. I'm sorry." he apologized but I was too distracted with how close we were to each other. We were inches away from almost being glued together and it made my stomach flutter lightly. I gasped at our sudden nearness and also because I was thinking about such inappropriate thoughts about him when I still loved Randy. He must've been surprised too because he let go of my hand and stepped back. I regained composure of myself and stood straighter. I managed to look annoyed again, thank God.
"What, Kyle?" I asked him sharply and he cringed at my tone. It was hilarious that 5'7 me could intimidate 6'2 Kyle. He really was looking very sorry but I was having too much fun getting back at him.
"I'm sorry I scared you. It was stupid. I'm sorry." he said seriously.I crossed my arms across my chest and just continued looking at him.
"Good. At least you know you're stupid." I mumbled and a smile tugged on his lips. He crossed his arms on his chest which only resulted in his biceps bulging through his perfectly snug t-shirt.
"So am I forgiven?" he asked sweetly and I couldn't help but smile at his cuteness. Before I could answer, someone decided to interrupt me.
"And what does she have to forgive you for?" someone said from behind me. I turned around and found my brother a few steps away from me. Trav seemed to be assessing Kyle's every move and Kyle was doing the same with Trav. I cleared my throat and walked over to my brother.
