I sit down on my bed waiting for an answer. I've been waiting forever for a reply, but nothing ever comes. Just waiting on my bed banging my head against the wall bored to death.
For the past six months I've been trying to get into this music school in London and I've been waiting three months for a 'yes' or a 'no'. Nothing so far. Gosh I hate waiting. Now you must understand my desire to bang my head against my bedroom wall.
My mom walks into the room and says, "Jess sweetie, give it sometime. Now come down to eat dinner."
I slam my palm to my forehead and say, "Mom, this might be more important than college!" I sit up run to my laptop and refresh my email. Nothing.
"Ugh, just go out and hang with Adrian and Aubrey." Mom said, handing me my purse that was hanging on the doorknob.
I take the purse and warn her, "If anything happens when I'm gone," I said pointing to my laptop, "call me right away."
She kisses my head and says, "All right mother."
I hurry and call up Aubrey and Adrian my two dorks,
"¡Hola!" Aubrey said cheerfully!
Adrian says a simple greeting.
I tell them to meet me at the mall, but they didn't know where because they know me so well they're going to meet me at the giant music store. Awesome friends right there.
I drive to the mall and hurry to the music store.
I ask for sheet music and for permission to play the instruments and sit down in front of a piano and just play until they get here.
When I was done with 'Hey Jude' by The Beatles the owner of the store said, "You're amazing! We need someone here."
I look at the keys and say, "I can't make promises because I applied for a music school in London and I'm not sure."
"That's awesome! Don't stop!" Then she walks away.
When they come we all go and get some bubble drinks and sit down to take a load off.
Aubrey sees how nervous I am and says, "Jess, calm down you're going to get in!"
My eyes burst out of my head and I exclaim, "Aubrey, this is the best music school ever and I really, REALLY want to get in!"
Adrian laughs and says, "Oh Jess, you're so weird!" Adrian said brushing back his brown hair.
I laugh and say, "You look so cute with a black eye!"
"But I don't have a black eye."
"Not yet." I said raising my eyebrow.
Aubrey: Jess, you're the best musician I've ever seen!
Adrian: Aubrey's right. Don't worry so much.
Me: You're right. (Constantly checking my phone)
We all go get some pizza and one of the band kids walks over to say hi.
"Hey Jess!" A boy named Carl said coming over.
"Carl," Aubrey said, "Jess is worried that she won't get into that music school, but she's amazing, right?"
Carl nods and says, "Jess, you're so going to get in! You're the best out if everyone! Now I gotta go."
When Carl leaves Adrian says, "See you're going to get in."
I close my eyes and say, "I love you guys, but they're a lot of other amazing students, but who cares let's move on."
We just talk and eat for hours until I got a cal from my mom.
"CONGRATS!!" Mom said over the phone.
I sit there starstruck and scream! Aubrey and Adrian knew what that meant and hugged me so hard.
"I'M GOING TO LONDON!" I said jumping up and down.
That was only the start.
