Chapter 8

The next day I called Aubrey and told her I didn't feel to good so I told Iris to meet up with her. I'm pretty sure Aubrey's going to like Iris' lime green hair. Aubrey always wanted to dye her hair a different color.

I lay in bed just typing up a English paper when I heard a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" I yelled.

"Asa's friend, Rider!" A guy from the other side of the door.

I sit up fix my hair and yell, "Come in!"

A guy with brown hair and brown eyes walks in and says, "Asa said to check up on you since he couldn't come because of auditions."

"Shit!" I rubbed my temples and ask, "When do auditions start?"

Rider checks his watch and says, "Two hours from now."

I get up, grab some clothes, a towel and hurry to the bathroom. "Thanks, Rider!" I call back to him. I feel bad leaving him just hanging, but I need to hurry my ass to auditions!

I get ready and run down to the auditorium and see Asa and hug him and pull out my script.

We sing the duet and run over our lines over and over for an hour and decide to take a break.

I look at my hands worried about everything and Asa asks, "Tell me what's wrong."

I look up, look into his ocean blue eyes and said, "My best friends, Adrian and Aubrey, aren't friends anymore. They're now in different cliques. Aubrey with the drama kids and Adrian with the jocks." I felt like crying so badly, "At least they're happy, but I feel like that wouldn't have happened if I was still there."

Asa wraps his arm around my shoulder and says, "Jess, I've had those situations and my life is great. You can choose you're friends, but you don't choose when you loose them, but if you love them then you know they're fine."

Right there I see Christy walk in and quickly take Asa's arm off my shoulder. He also sees her and smiles at me and puts his arm back. I can see the anger in her face and smile back at her. IT FELT GREAT!

Ms. Jameson comes in and waves to me and Asa. Everyone knows that we're her favorite students and no one can take that away from me because I love drama!

"Alright!" She said standing on the stage. "Everyone has to find a group of four to audition with two girls and two boys and then sing the duet. Then do the scene with Donkey, Fiona, and Shrek."

Asa, Jason, Carly and I got in a group, it was perfect because I knew that Carly and Jason are great because of when we did those improve exercises and I knew Asa because we've been practicing for this FOREVER!

Asa: Shrek

Me: Fiona

Jason: Donkey

Since they're only three people in this scene Carly sits out.

FIONA Take it off.

SHREK No!

FIONA Now!

SHREK Okay! Easy. As you command. Your Highness.
