The next day I get to go to the music room for a long time and ended up just having music sheets and instruments every single inch of the room. Man—this is going to take a long time to clean up.

Asa: Jess, are you alright?

I press the bridge of my nose and say, "I just need to be alone for a bit."

Asa sighs and walks out the door. I feel bad for kicking him out, I just don't feel like talking because I feel as if I have to talk and I don't want to because I'm not in the mood.

Outside it rains for hours and the rhythm of the rain hitting the window reminds me of tap dancers walking around the room in unison.

For the next couple days I go to bed and I don't get out and Asa comes in every once in a while to check up on me, but I'm always sleeping or kicking everyone out the room. I've been growing into a deep depression and I feel weaker and weaker each day. Rider has been trying to get me to eat, but I always refuse to swallow anything. Iris tries to play music, but the noise hurts my ears and Asa tries to love me, but I push him away. I push everyone away and that makes them want to help me more and more.

I slowly fall asleep in a dark way, but I'm too tried to wake up for a short time.

————————-

I open my eyes and instead of seeing the bright yellow walls in our room I look around the plain, sad, white walls and some medicine thing connected to my arm and I look to see Asa, Rider and Iris sitting around me and I can tell from their eyes they have been crying a lot.

Me: Where am I?

Iris: At the hospital.

Rider: You fell asleep and you didn't wake up for a day, but you still had pulse so we had you check and you lost a lot of weight!

Asa: How do you feel?

Me: Like crap. Did you tell my parents?

Rider: No, we couldn't because the cell phone signal crashed from the rainstorm and we have no electricity for the week.

Iris: We'll be outside. The doctor is coming to give you you're medicine and tell you your...that.

Me: Guys, I'm sorry I pushed you away for the last couple days.

Asa: Shut up, we love you. We're just happy that you're still alive.

Doctor: Ms. Arnold, you're lucky because you lost ten pounds without eating and I hear you went through depression. You can leave in two days, but you have to take counseling.

Me: Really. I'll eat, but please don't make me get help.

Doctor: Ms. Arnold, you're lucky we're not telling your parents so I wouldn't push it.

I go back to sleep and eat a giant sandwich just before and dream for the next couple hours.

The next time I wake up I was able to go home after my regular medicine.

Nurse: Now start eating, you look like a skeleton.

Me: Thank you.

Nurse: Alright, go back to school, sugar.

I walk out of the front doors to see Asa leaning on the passenger door waiting me for me.

Asa laughs and says, "Man, you really do look and feel like crap."

I laugh and say, "I'm just glad to get out of that depressing hell."

As time goes on driving Asa looks at me for a quick second and says, "I'm not taking the role."

I burst up feeling pain, but to busy to care. "What? Why?!"

Asa looks sad and says, "You went into the hospital because of me leaving! What would happen when I leave?!"

I look at Asa mad and happy then lean back in my chair and say, "Asa, you're taking that job if you like it or not! I'm not reeling you down!"

Asa parked the car he turns to me and says, "But I don't want to change." Asa looks at his hands and adds, "I don't want to leave you."

"Asa, you're way too special to be another stupid, fake celebrity and I know you're not going to leave me." I get out of the car and look at the dark, rainy sky.

"Let's make a deal," Asa said waking hand and hand, "when I leave we decided to talk and video chat almost 24/7 and if it doesn't work we move on. Deal."

I smile and say, "And we have to make the most of the short time we have!"

"Deal."

"Deal."

I go to my room and hurry to grab a towel and sweats.

I take a shower feeling gross and greasy then jumping into my sweats because I still feel a little weak.

I walk around with my music with an umbrella since it's still raining a lot from the storm.

"Jess!" I hear a voice call out from a distance.

I turn to see Iris and give her a big hug! "Iris!" I said squeezing her tightly that her green hair loses some color.

Once we separate, Iris looks at me and says, "We have two more days left of spring break so let's go get some Red Mango.

I change so I don't look like a hobo at the mall into some skinny jeans, white shirt, gray cardigan and a pink scarf with my converse. I don't care if my feet get wet.

We go to the mall and get some Red Mango and sit down to relax.

Me: So what happened when I was out?

Iris: Rider and I lightly slapped you and put a freezing towel on your forehead, but no reaction! We checked your pulse and obliviously you're alive so we quickly called Asa to help you get to the hospital.

Me: I have to go to counseling now. I said I didn't need help.

Iris: Jess, you just need a little more adventure and when something leaves you need to learn to let go.

Me: You're right, but easier said than done.

Iris: I didn't say it would be easy. Come on kid, let's go watch a movie in the lounge back on campus.

Me: Sounds like a plan. Wait! We have to have dinner at Asa's family tonight!

Iris: Shit! Come on!

We rush back to campus to pick up Rider and Asa.

Rider: Why the bloody hell did it take you so long!?

Me: Red Mango.

Asa: Did you bring any back?

Iris burps and says, "Enjoy!"

We drive to Asa's house and knock on the door.

I hear a little girls laughter and Asa's mom Jack and sister Loxie open the door!

Jack: Oh dears! Get in before you get soaked!

Asa: Hi mum. (Gestures to Iris) Mum, this is Iris. (Rider) You know Rider. (Gestures to me) This is my girlfriend, Jess.

Loxie: Mum! That's the girl that Asa always talks about when he visits!

Me: I hope he says nice things!

Loxie: Oh he does! About how pretty your eyes are, sense of humor and how smart you are! It gets annoying after a while.

Asa: Alright Loxie, go play!

We all go to the basement and played with Loxie. She was so interested in Iris's hair that it's cool!

We enjoy some laughter and dinner all night long until it was late and we needed to get back to MCAA safely.

Jack: Asa really likes you.

Me: I love him.

Jack: That's adorable!

I walk back to the car with Asa's arm around me.
