~Hammy ham man POV~

I wiped away my tears as Thomas spoke again.

"I've been in love with you my entire life. Ever since the day I first met you," he said, making my heart ache. I smiled softly at the words.

"I remember it clearly. When we bumped into each other at the park you looked like a fish out of water. Your mouth was opening and closing. You had nothing to say and for once neither did I. We were both so flustered. " Thomas said. Everyone laughed at his recollection. I admired the light in his eyes as he laughed along with everyone else.

"And then after like- ten minutes of just staring at each other, I finally said, 'hey, my name is Thomas Jefferson.' and then you introduced yourself and then we exchanged numbers. Nothing too romantic but I wouldnt have it any other way," Thomas continued, causing the crowd to "awwwww." I could feel tears starting to form in my eyes, but I wiped them away.

"-And I even remember our first date! I was soooo cringy!" Thomas groaned in embarrassment as his cheeks grew red. I laughed at the memory. I could still remember his suit and magenta tie. He had poofed (thats not a word but its fine) his hair up to make himself a full two inches taller.

As Thomas told the rest of the story, I looked around room. Friends, co-workers, and other people I loved were here for the wedding. I admired the decorations and the color scheme. Beautiful music was playing in the background and the food was incredible. Only Thomas could pull off something as amazing as this. He looked amazing in the suit that I had helped to pick out. It was exactly how I had always imagined this day to go. Perfect. Almost perfect.

As Thomas began to wrap up the story, I caught his eye. He nodded at me and gave me a smile that caused my heart to flutter a bit.

"Now I would like to pass the spotlight to my best man, Alexander Hamilton!" Thomas exclaimed as clapping and cheering came from the audience. I smiled and walked up to the front of the room.

My heart was beating so fast that I thought it would explode out of my chest. I could stand being this close to him yet so far.

When I took the mic from him, our fingers brushed, causing a spark of electricity to flow through me. He laughed and gave me a pat in the back before turning back to walk towards his bride, Martha Wayles Jefferson. (i think thats her real name but correct me if im wrong)

I watched from the corner if my eye as they entwined their fingers together and Martha rested her head on Thomas shoulder. I jot of jealousy ran through me, bringing tears to my eyes. I wiped them away. They looked perfect together. I couldnt change fate.

I took a deep breath as I turned to face the newly wedded couple.

"A toast to the groom!" I shouted and raised the wine glass in m hand, the rest of the room echoing my words. "To the bride! From yoir best friends who is always by your side!"

The couple turned to each other, looking into each others eyes. They were completely smitten with each other. Anyone with common sense could see that. Althouh my heart ached at the sight of them, I was happy. For them. As they leaned in for a kiss, I kept shouting.

"To your union! And the hope that you provide! May you always be satisfied!" I finished with tears in my eyes. The whole room cheered. Suddenly, I felt a playful push from behind. I turned to see Laurens, Herc, and Lafayette grinning from ear to ear, clearly happy for Thomas.

"We're gonna get some food. Wanna come?" Laurens shouted over all the talking.

"I'll meet you at the food later. I just have to go to the bathroom," I said and we parted ways.

Instead of going to the bathroom, I made my way to the balcony that over looked the gardens. As I enjoyed the view, I thought about the groom. Thomas.

I thought about the moments that we had shared. Had they meant nothing to him now? Those few moments with him were the memories that I had treasured the most.

Suddenly, I began to cough. I started to cough so hard that I though I was about to puke my stomach out. Just when I thought that my throat couldnt take anymore, a single white rose fell out of my mouth and landed in my hand.

When I realized what it was, I gasped. I observed the small flower that had came from my mouth.

I knew this disease all too well. My mother had died from it.

The hanahaki disease. I stared at the flower in my palm, a sign of a one-sided love. A love that could never be returned.

ok so if u guys dont know what the hanahaki disease is its a fictional disease that happens when someone loves another person but the person cant give those feeling back.

there are only two ways it can end.

death by suffocating. the petals and flowers fill your lungs until you can breath
