Julie's PoV:

The next morning, I sit next to Merry and Pippin on the edge of a boat, after Pippin told Merry what I told Pippin last night.

'Wow Julie. What's the matter with you? Why didn't you tell someone?' Merry asks me. I shrug hopelessly and look at him.

'Because I didn't want to think I was weak.' I tell him.

'Wow. Just remember you can tell me and Pippin anything. Right?' He says, smiling and putting and hand on my shoulder, then looking to Pippin, who looks like he ate something.

'Are you okay?' I see Legolas come to us an place some bags in our boat. I pat my side and smile timidly.

'Yes.' I say as Legolas notices a package of food in the boat.

'Oh! Lembas!' Legolas exclaims, grabbing a small, square piece of food from one. He nibbles a piece and holds it in front of him.

'One small bite is enought to fill the stomach of a grown man!' He says and gives me the lembas.

'How many did you eat?' I hear Merry ask Pippin.

'Four.' Pippin tells him and I giggle as I hear him burp. I feel like I can be more open to these two now. They look at me and smile. Merry playfully puts his arm around my shoulder.

'I think I like this Julie better than the shy, mean Julie right Pippin?' He asks. I make an uncomfortable face as Pippin pokes my nose.

'Your right Merry. She is much more happy. We're her friends right?' Pippin asks.

'Right.' Merry agrees.

'Really?' I ask.

'Of course.' Merry answers, smiling.

Julie's PoV:

Before we leave, the lady elf, whose name is Galadriel gives the fellowship gifts. Merry and Pippin get daggers and an elven belt. Sam gets an elven rope, Legolas gets an elven bow, and Frodo got this kind of light. Wen she approaches me, she pulls a thin, but detailed rope bracelet. As I see her, I notice she observed my healing last night.

'To you, Julie, I give you a bracelet made by my kin. May it save you from wounds, large or small.' She says and tenderly places it on my wrist.

When we load into the boats. I sit myself down into the one with Legolas as Gimli. Merry and Pippin are in a boat with Boromir, and Sam and Frodo are in a boat with Strider. Mh.... Stri-der. I wonder if that's his actual name.... As Legolas rows the boat, I fiddle with the bracelet on my wrist.

'What did you ask her for?' Legolas asks Gimli.

'A strand of her hair, she gave me three though.' Gimli says.

'And you Julie?' Legolas asks me.

'Oh. Um just this bracelet.' I say. It is a soft, white rope bracelet with the leaf of Lorien in the middle. The white color is like a fresh cloud in the sky.

'Its beautiful!' Legolas exclaims and I scoff in humor. 'Oh, by the way, how is your side?' He asks me.

'Side? What happened?' Gimli asks through his gruffly beard.

'She got shot with an morgul-tipped arrow. Last night she was about to die from the poison, if Aragorn had not healed we with altheas.' Legolas explained.

'Oh! This one dwarf had the same situation in the time of my father. He is dead now.' Gimli says.

'I remember that.' Legolas interjected.

'He died of the arrow?' I ask, suddenly putting my hands on my side.

'No he was healed. He died in battle.' Gimli says.

'Oh look!' He says, looking up.

Hoping it will forget the fear I have I my mind I look up, and see two giant stone men with their arms cast out in a salute. They seem like kings, wearing a helm and crown of stone. Well, they ARE statues. We pass through the gate they protect and dock at the place Legolas called Parth Galen. As I walk on the beach I feel a hand grab my arm.

'Julie, can I talk to you?' It's Frodo.

I nod my head and we go into the trees that are there.

'So... They told me what happened. In Lorien. Are you okay? I know what it feels like to almost die.' Frodo says.

'I am fine Frodo.' I say quietly.

'No you aren't. Something's bothering you.' Frodo assures. He is right. I feel as if I am being pulled in all directions. You know, that feeling of uncertainty.

'No nothing is bothering me. I am going back to the others.' I say, turning around.

'Julie!' Frodo exclaims, grabbing my wrist and stopping me from leaving. I feel a pain in my stomach and the faint whispering emerges from the depths of my brain. He looks agitated and the ring is exposed on his shirt. I whimper and tug on my wrist.

'Please stop Frodo I just- I can't concentrate when I am around you. It's that darn ring! It speaks to me in my head! Can I please go now?' I ask, growing desperate, like the words in my head. It was faint, like a voice in a crowd, but now it is growing ever clearer... Like the voice is magnified. Frodo looks at me in shock and steps forward, releasing me from his grasp. Unfortunately, I was pulling, so I fall to the ground. The whispering turns into the gruffly voice of my grandpa, who abused me. I know what's going on. Somehow, the ring is tempting me. Frodo offers a hand up and I look at him and take it. He helps me up and I hug him, wanting to cry.

'I'm sorry Frodo. I am sorry you have to go through this. All you wanted to do was talk. With that burden you carry, I should've let you.' I apologize.

'Its okay.' He says, patting my back.

'Your so sweet. I am truly sorry. You deserve so much better.' I say, and I mean it as I pull away. As soon as I am a good distance away, I feel him grab my arms and kiss me. My eyes shut and I panic inside. I've never been kissed before, and Frodo is jut a friend. He isn't the one I like. Frodo's kiss is soft, small, and not quick, but not long. He let's go of my arms before he pulls away.

'I am sorry to. I had to do that before it's to late.' He says, his beautiful blue eyes filled with sadness.

'Frodo-' I start.

'Its okay. I just need time to think.' He says and walks away.

I stand there in the woods for a while before I hear a noise, and a thing grabs me. I know it's an Orc. I believe I am able to let out a small cry before it's ugly hand covers my mouth and the sunlight turns to darkness.
