"So what's the plan?" I asked a few minutes later when the awkward conversation had passed.
"Well lunch first because we don't want you passing out, so maybe a café?" She suggested and I just nodded, not refusing food.
"Then shopping for awhile?" She said after I nodded.
"Sounds perfect." I said with a smile and she returned it, as we walked through the glass doors that lead us through to the café we were going to.
-
"So Amelia." Millie started as we were walking around, wandering in and out of various shops, checking price tags of different clothes but putting them straight back on the shelves because I was broke.
"Yes." I said, turning around to look at her.
"What are your intentions with my brother?" She asked, as a matter of factly.
"I don't have intentions."
"Do you love him?"
"I do."
"Good, because I really like you and if you both love each other, then you'll be around forever!" She squealed excitingly and I giggled.
"Hopefully!"
"Hey why don't you go buy them shoes you were looking at back there? My treat." Carolyn said to Millie who just took the money and ran, screaming some sort of a 'thank you'
"Sorry about her." She apologised.
"Don't worry, she's right, Tris shouldn't be bringing random people home, who Millie gets attached to and then they're never seen again."
"You're right."
"It also makes me really happy that she likes me."
"Why?"
"Well for starters, I'm the youngest so I know how hard being the youngest can be, especially if you've two older brothers, I had a sister to guide me but Millie doesn't, besides you, of course." I laughed awkwardly when I realised what I said and began to pick my nails. "And it's my boyfriends family, it's a dream for at least of them like me."
"It's not just one of the family, I think you're a fabulous girl."
"You don't know how relieved I am to hear that."
"I said it back when I first met you, Tristan was just so whole when you were around, I knew it was bound to happen, I'm glad it's you who makes my son happy."
I didn't even realise I was tearing up until she reached her thumb up to wipe the dampness from under my eyes.
"Sorry." I wiped them quickly, suddenly getting awkward again because I just cried in public, and in front of my boyfriends mother.
"Don't say sorr-."
"Why are you crying?" Millie asked when she ran back up to us, a bag in her hands.
"I'm a big softie."
"Don't get all soft on me, White!" She called me by my last name which made me laugh.
"Sorry, Evans!"
"It's Millie to you!"
"Yes ma'am!"
"Come on." Carolyn laughed at us as we both followed her towards the car, I was bet from walking around shopping all day and couldn't wait to get home and lounge about.
-
"I am bet." I flopped on the couch next to Tristan when we arrived home.
"Successful shopping day?"
