Not to Luke's surprise, the assembly was long and boring.

He leaned back and rested his head on the back of the chair. He yawned as the Principle — Mr. Wyatt — blabbered about the importance of senior year.

It was only about a month into senior year and Luke already felt like he was falling behind. Out of nowhere, he remembered when he wished he could skip to high school.

He heard applause.

He jumped a bit and let out a soft sigh, thankful that the assembly was over. He got up from the chair and followed the girl ahead of him out.

He walked to his locked and slipped the books needed for the upcoming classes ahead. His locker was slammed.

"Jesus," he muttered, shaking his head. He turned and saw his sister — Louisa — giving him an innocent smile. Anyone could see the resemblance between Louisa and Luke.

They both had dark brown hair. While Luke got light blue eyes. And Louisa had a set of grey eyes. Her hair was long and she usually had it down.

"How are you, dear brother?" Louisa asked her brother — crossing her arms across her chest and leaning against the locker beside Luke's.

"You asked me the same thing this morning, Louisa. I'm doing good," Luke said. "Now I have to go to class."

She smiled at him before leaving. Louisa was Luke's younger sister. He took a last glance at her as she walked up to her group of friends.

Although she was only a year younger than him, it still felt like they were years apart. He remembered her middle school graduation. When he kept on assuring her that she would be fine.

He was glad she was.

Luke didn't have much friends. Not that he couldn't make friends, he just chose his friends very carefully. He didn't know if it was because he didn't like a big group of just regular friends, or because he just had a hard time trusting people.

Either way, Luke was just fine with his few very close friends.

His parents tried giving him the boost — they apparently thought — that he needed. No matter how hard he tried convincing them that he was just fine.

On the other hand, he learned how to let things go. Like their constant meddling into his life. Friendships, relationships, and whatnot.

He sighed before walking into his next class, praying that it would take shorter than he originally thought it would take.

Much to his surprise, the class ended faster than he expected. It might have been because it was a substitution, he wondered.

Either way, he didn't object.

He walked out of the classroom a little later than his other classmates; aware of how busy the halls will be.

He then stuffed all of his unneeded notebooks in his locker and sat at on a bench at the quad. He looked around seeing a lot of students, walking out of buildings and talking to friends.

He then realized, he didn't see Khadijah the whole day. He wondered for a few minutes how she was and how was her day. Until he heard a familiar voice call his name.

He got up and got into the car without a word. And as soon as Louisa was in, the car moved.
