• Hello! How is everyone? I finally finished my final exams and I have a four day weekend. Like I promised, here is an update. I wanna thank you for sticking around for this long. I have decided that Khadijah will only be a 30 chapters. So, we still have 9 chapters to go. I'm going to miss those two. I hope you enjoyed their story so far as much as I do. Happy reading! •

Khadijah held the fabric in her hand, her shaky fingers are making the material move in sync. Sunlight creeps into the room making her red hair look a few shades lighter.
She knew. It was time. She glanced at the clock on the wall and then realized that she had to be out the door any minute now.
She took in a deep breath before releasing it slowly, feeling every exhaled gas out of her chest. It sure was a big step.
She got the curtains out of the way as she looked out the window and looked at the cloudless sky. She held up her hands.
"Please make this be the right decision," she prayed.
Khadijah dragged her legs to be in front of her mirror. She put the soft, delicate scarf over her head as she carefully tied it around. She had spent the whole night practicing ways to put it on.
After she was done, she smiled a little before she grabbed her bag and left her bedroom. Khadijah walked down the stairs to be met with her father by the door.
He turned around and shock took over his face. He then smiled widely and tears were close to dripping down from his eyes. Her dad walked up to her and hugged her tightly.
"I'm very proud of you. I know how hard such decision had to be; considering our society."
She pulled away and smiled at him, her smile matched his own. "You have no idea how glad I am to hear you say that, Dad."
He told her he'd wait for her in the car as she went to bid her mom goodbye. Her mom's reaction was identical to her dad's. It goes without saying, such reactions were normally expected. But to Khadijah and anyone in her place, it was not.
She grabbed her lunch and went into her dad's car. The drive to school was silent. It would've been more expected after what he just witnessed happened. But neither of them uttered a word to each other. Guess neither of them thought any conversation would be needed.
As soon as they got to the school gates, her dad put her hand on hers, in an attempt to stop her. She turned to him confused.
"Everything okay, Dad?" She asked him.
He sighed, nodding. "Yeah just... don't listen to what they say okay? Remember who you're doing this for."
She smiled before hugging him. She pulled away and gave him a kiss. She raced out of the car and quickly into her English Literature class.
Everyone looked at her, eyes wide and turned to their friends whispering. She flashed them a smile and sat at her seat.
Luke was talking to someone next to him as he noticed her presence.
"Khadijah? Oh my Lord, but I didn't even recognize you," he stated. He stayed quiet for a minute before he said something that made her heart skip a beat.
"You... you look beautiful."
